Entry requirements

The following information is for guidance only and should be used together with the University's general entrance requirements and any specific degree programme requirements.


In order to be considered for entry onto our undergraduate programmes you will need:

  • High School Diploma with Grade 3.0 or above

  • PLUS SAT 1 with a minimum of 1800 (1900 or above for subjects where standard entry is AAB or higher, see prospectus for details) OR ACT Composite Score of 27 or above

  • PLUS 3 AP subjects (minimum of 2 UCAS AP Programme Group A subjects required) with a score of 4 - 5* depending upon chosen course

  • OR 3 SAT Subject Tests (SAT II) with a minimum score of 650 in each

  • OR a combination of AP Subjects (UCAS Group A subjects only) and SAT Subject Tests equaling 3 subjects in total
  • *AP score of 4 = a UK A Level grade B / AP score of 5 = a UK A Level grade A

    Birmingham Foundation Academy- Four Year Degree

    This would be a suitable option for those students who have not taken AP's or SAT subject tests or do not have the pre-requisite AP subjects for their chosen subject area.


  • High School Graduation Diploma with: 'good'/grade B/ GPA 3.0 average

      University of Birmingham is located in a very green, posh and quite a nice region/town called Edgbaston in Birmingham. You would never regret being here in this University as it has something for everyone. Peaceful as well as quite happening and safe enough. Abundant facilities and provisions from University. Students Union called Guild of students is extremely helpful and proactive.
