Am learning a lot
I've taken some of the most interesting classes here. The teachers are great and they are more than willing to help you. Also the class sizes are smaller so you don't get lost in the crowd.
Am enjoying being here
I absolutely love this place! The students and teachers are great and the atmosphere is unlike any other college I've seen. There are tons of activities to give you a break from your studies, LOTS of games (both video and board), and gen ed classes actually integrate aspects of your major into them to make them more interesting.
Bang for the buck
So far I feel like I've got what I've paid for. Once I graduate I get to audit classes for free to brush up on my skills.
Tips for prospective students
Although there are lots of fun things happening at this school make sure that you pay attention to your studies. Also there are a lot of projects going on that can be used in your portfolio. Make sure that you get involved with them it's great experience.
Great for these types of students
Geeks!, Net Sec majors, smart people with potential that may not have done well in high school, DVA majors, people with a love for making video games

Bang for the buck
Even after graduation I will be excited to attend classes as an Alumi for no extra charge! The classes as small (at most 30 students), so I can easily connect with the people in my class and ask for help when I need it.
Tips for prospective students
Get involved in projects and if you have an idea start you own project!
Connect with others - in school clubs and activities, at LAN (gaming party), and in classes.
Check out the Phoenix/Tempe area. There always an event going on, you'll never feel bored!
Great for these types of students
All kinds!
Gamers, need I say more? You'll learn the tips and techniques on creating games, about the industry, and so much more.
Geeks if you love technology and want to learn more!
Shy kids can even connect, you'll always feel welcomed.
Outgoing individuals if you want to take charge of you education.

A lot of the staff are extremely helpful, with a smaller group of students, each one is guaranteed individual attention.

Depending on preference, some people may not enjoy the lower amount of females that attend UAT
Bang for the buck
It is definitely worth it compared to other colleges.
Great for these types of students
Geeks, UAT prides themselves on those who are of Geek status.

This school is perfect for those who love technology! Everyone is so kind and helpful; going to this school is one of the best decisions I have ever made!
Tips for prospective students
The University of Advancing Technology (UAT) doesn't look too much into academics, however, the courses will require academic discipline. If you took Advanced Placement classes, the coursework shouldn't be too bad. As a first semester student, I usually finish all of my homework by Friday and I have all of Saturday and Sunday to do whatever I want.Incoming students should portray their love of technology and geekyness to show UAT that you belong here.
Academic Rigor
Depending on what classes you took in high school and what your major is, the coursework shouldn't be too rigorous. I'm sure as you take more advanced classes, the coursework will become more challenging, but when you start off, it's not too bad. If you dedicated, (at least for the first semester) you can finish all of your homework before the weekend!
Dorm Life
The dorms are nice! There are two types of dorms, shared and private. Shared dorms are two rooms connected by a bathroom, while private rooms is simply one bedroom and one bathroom. I live in a private dorm with my roommate and we love it; we don't have to worry about our suite-mate making a mess and not cleaning it up because it's just the two of us. The dorm building has a movie, game, fitness, and laundry room. The second floor also has a ping-pong and pool table. Every floor has these quit rooms called think tanks that allow students to go and study if their room is too loud or uncomfortable. The best part about the dorms is that they are literally a minute away from the school!
Food and Dining
Depending on your meal plan, you either get 10, 15, or unlimited meals per week. Since I don't usually eat breakfast, I have the 15 meals per week plan. The food is decent. There are three options to choose from at lunch and dinner: the hot food, sandwiches, or pizza. Oh, and there is always desert available. The dining room is a bit small, but it has four T.V.s in it along with multiple gaming consoles.
What to do for fun
There is so much to do! Student government tries to make sure that there is always something to do. The dorm's RAs plan events as well. And don't get me started on all the clubs that are available. There is a mounting behind the school that students can climb at any time; the mall is literally a ten minute walk. The mall has a plethora of activities to do. The best one (in my opinion) is the arcade. It's all up to you whether or not you attend the events. If you do, you'll have a blast. If you don't, you'll end up being bored and wonder why. There's so much to do, you just have to go and do it!
Bang for the buck
Regardless on how you're paying for school, this school is a bit on the expensive side. However, I love it here because I don't have to worry about the commute time between the dorms and the school, the computer commons are always available and every student has access to all the programs the school has to offer, and the campus is so cozy. The people here are great and I know for a fact, you'll enjoy it here!

The school does this thing called Humans vs. Zombies; It's basically a huge game of tag with Nerf guns. It's so much fun and it takes place over three days. The school is also big on flaunting its geekyness.
Great for these types of students
This school is great for people who consider themselves geeks. You can be yourself here and people will accept you. You make friends in an instant once you start unveiling you inner geek.
Clubs and Activities
There are so many clubs its ridiculous! When you start a semester and your favorite club is missing, you can start it up. New clubs sprout up every semester. All you have to do is turn in a club application. Like I mentioned before, there is so much to do here. The possibilities expand if you have a car. You're literally a walk from Phoenix. Tempe is great too!
Greek Life
There's no official Greek Life, but the dorms do have something similar. Each wing of the dormitory has its own name and theme. When events occur, people sign in and put what wing they are in. At the close of the semester, the wing with the most participants gets a reward.
Campus Safety
UAT is really safe in my opinion. Since I've been here, there has been no big theft. People lose their flash drives and phones and they always show up at the security desk. People respect each others' property here.

UAT is an excellent college in Tempe, Arizona. Advertises themselves as a 'geek college' for gaming students. However, I am currently a technology forensics student.
Tips for prospective students
Must want a small technology university. This college is unique and must be a 'good fit' for your major and personality. Weather is awesome but HOT in the summer. Operates on a trimester scheduling (all year - no summers off); however, you will be done in less than 3 years!
Academic Rigor
This university uses the latest in technology to conduct innovative learning.
Food and Dining
small cafe with limited choices.
Bang for the buck
Seems a bit expensive - however, you must consider that the school operates on a trimester (attend all year round) allows you to be complete in less than 3 years.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Cybercave for Network security and technology forensics students.
Great for these types of students
Computer Enthusiasts (Geeks)
Greek Life
None
Campus Safety
Very safe

Will learn a lot
I have a few of their magazines and I know students there learn a lot, in their field of study and possibly more.
Will enjoy being here
The geek-friendly enviornment, the technology (especially the video games), and all the people just like me makes it ideal for people who likes these kinds of things.
Bang for the buck
It looks like a lot of money, but if you apply for scholarships, it won't be. And if it is, well you'll see why it costs that much.
Tips for prospective students
Apply for as many scholarships as possible, manage your time wisely, and connect with other people at the school and different industries.
Great for these types of students
People who love technology, video games, movies, and everything of the like.

I would have to rate the University of Advancing Technology a three in half out of five. They are however improving a lot so this rating is subject to change throughout the year.
Tips for prospective students
Please do you homework, do not get tied up in playing video games all day. We have a lot of dropouts because of that.
Academic Rigor
University of Advancing Technology can have some very prestige's courses, so do not take your classes lightly
Dorm Life
Life in the dorms are good for the most part. I enjoy leaving here, and the people are nice
Food and Dining
Food is not always the best, but you have different selections you can choose from such as the hot bar or sands-which bar, so in the end it evens out.
What to do for fun
I enjoy 3D modeling in Blender, and creating digital drawings in gimp. I really like working with open source projects.
Bang for the buck
University of Advancing Technology can be a little on the expensive side. It it does lack in some areas. However, I would say it is not a bad university to attend, if you can afford it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Humans vs Zombies is very interesting, and the people here take that game seriously( it is a lot of fun to play)
Great for these types of students
The school is good for Tech people, and Geeks( I mean that in a good way), and people who like to make video games.
Clubs and Activities
Clubs here are great there just so many, I forget what they are. There is a club for about everything you could imagine.
Greek Life
Life here is good, and if it is your first college you attend you will most likely enjoy it a lot.
Campus Safety
Campus Safety at University of Advancing Technology is great. They really take protecting the student, and educating the students on safety seriously.

Awesome school, it has some really cool labs and other tech tools. The Cyber Cave especially has some awesome features and they take you through all of them.
Tips for prospective students
The teachers will help you but if you want to succeed you can't just go to class and go home, you need spend time just chatting with the professors about anything you can think of. Clubs and other meeting held in the school are also great ways to make the connections you'll need when you get out of school to get a job or even while in school to find an internship. You need to meet the school halfway or you wont reach your full potential.
Dorm Life
The WiFi can sometimes be spotty but they keep it up pretty well.
What to do for fun
There are tons of clubs in the school and if you don't find something you like then they encourage you to start your own! There are lots of little competitions and games put on by the school or that the school is participating in. You just have to look to find fun things to do.
Bang for the buck
The school is a little expensive.
Great for these types of students
Geeks and nerds, and proud of it!
