Stay on top of your plans! Do not let advisors give you bad advice or delay graduation with unnecessary classes. And know what you want: if you float through classes without working, you will find yourself unemployable upon graduation.

I would suggest getting involved in whatever ways you can. There are a lot of campus jobs offered to students who are looking to work their way through college. There are also various clubs and sports teams for students to join. UAA is a community that allows you to do what you love alongside students who love the same things.

Be open to others. People are very kind and giving here. There are going to be some bumpy roads while obtaining your degree like any other school. But like any other school, this will be the best and worst years to come. I am going to pursue a degree in music performance and so far I couldn't be happier with the amount of help I had from other professors I've had with my grades. Not too many professors care so much. Education is what you make of it and if you work hard, study and stay persistent then good things will happen for you. Try not to procrastinate and get all the work done as quickly and as accurately as possible. Be aware of your health care and financial aid because there has been experiences from numerous students of having complications of that. Plus, since most assignments are done online, sometimes computers don't work and can cause complications. Other than that work hard, be persistent in your goals and you will go far.

Take advantage of financial aid applications, go to sporting events if you have time, and read the posters on campus for awesome activities that are constantly going on! Pursue your studies seriously, make friends who will help you achieve your goals, and get to know the awesome faculty.
