The learning experience is amazing. The professors know what they are teaching and enjoy teaching it. Some of them are born and raised in Alaska so they can help you out. The other students are a big help as well.

They only care about the numbers and not the education. They're not in touch with the student body enough to know what they want. They seem to focused on sports.

  • Feb-20-2017 I am researching this school and have visited the campus

After having visited this campus it seems rather large which for me would mean a lot of walking. It also seems to focus more on liberal arts or the medical aspect so if you want a math or science related degree I would suggest UAF. Not the school for me but not bad especially for the cost.

University of Alaska Anchorage has great students on campus. They are not big on sports, so if you are looking for a college that has good sports, this is probably not the college for you. Overall I would give UAA a 3 out of 5 score.

UAA is a good school, however it is geared more toward students pursuing a career in the sciences. It has a large campus, right next to Providence Hospital. It has a lot of hands on classes, and the professors love what they do.

The campuses and classes are accessible; It's easy to take courses at other UA campuses and transfer the credit. The school is open-enrollment so quality varies widely; some departments are great while others are pointless. Generally, it's very difficult to get help from Administration, and the site is terrible.

I would rate the University of Alaska Anchorage overall as a 7 out of 10. The campus provides a friendly environment where everybody is supportive of their fellow students. Certain programs are better than others but no matter what program you are in, you will find helpful resources wherever you turn.
