There are a lot of activities that freshman can do during the first week of the semester. There are great cookouts and free food with free t-shirts handed out on the UA mall that have great ways to meet new people. There's a recreational center, the pool is very nice and can be a great place to sunbathe on the water with floating foam pads. Clubs are also a great way to have something fun to do over the weekends, especially intramural club sports. I know for a fact that it can also be fun to just take SafeRide (the free transportation service on campus) to Walmart or shopping outlet (within in 10 miles of the University) to buy food and hang out! A good place to just chill would be the Scented Leaf, which is a great tea house that sells all sorts of teas that offer free second refills. (Just be warned, the tea can be VERY addicting!!)

Tucson is sort of a boring town, itself, but if you're with the right people and involved, you'll enjoy yourself. I've seen a skating rink out here, movie theaters, and nice restaurants. We also have a recreation center on 6th street 9which happens to be directly across from my dorm). It has a pool, multiple basketball courts, a huge gym, and lots of open dance rooms. That would be my favorite place to be, not including our football games.

The UA has many activities that goes on throughout the week. There is always something that goes and clubs always have activities for their members. Join a club once you know what suits you best as a student, and is flexible with your schedule. Stay active and make friends, you'll always have something fun to do.

When there's nothing to do, explore the campus and background. Not only is the school famous in history but is glorious in the Agriculture buildings. You may notice that one building in particular, is in the shape of a wildcat.

Tucson itself can be kind of intimidating - not the safest city in the world, but it is a college town and pretty much everything revolves around the university.

Go to the mall, there is always something. Either that or you can go down town or on fourth ave. There are usually concerts (sometimes small free ones), art fairs, etc.

Anything. Go camping on Mt. Lemon or hiking in the nearby mountains. Go on a walk through campus or down the mall. Of course there is always a party going on, yes Monday-Saturday, it doesn't matter. Join just one of the millions of clubs here! We even have LARPING so there's something for everyone I promise.
