UAPB is in a small town but, if you are involved in campus activities there is plenty to do.

UAPB is at best a below average university. The education you receive at this school is far under what is expected at other universities. Yes, the teachers are generally nice and have time to talk to you, but other than that, the instruction is terrible. I have now been here for two semesters and out of 12 classes, I have found 1 that actually challenges me. The teachers expectations are generally low and its a miracle if they actually teach you something in the class. I am taking 18 credits, working part time and have more than enough spare time. This should be a red flag. I have A's in all my classes and barely study. Why you ask? The teachers either don't care, have low expectations of the students (maybe due to geographic location and culture) or are just unqualified teachers. Just because it is an HBCU, does not mean it gives appropriate education and being that it is historical doesn't equate to a good education. If you look at graduation rate statistics, you'll see the statistic is extremely low. Yes, its great if you want to slide by in college and pass with a degree, but what if you actually want to do something in life, maybe apply for a competitive job or apply for a master's program? I can guarantee you the education you receive here will not prepare you for the next step. Most teachers let you turn in work late, let you use your book on exams, and expect you to learn most of the information yourself. Also, I have asked several times for recommendation letters for scholarships, or advising issues to be completed and no one gets anything done unless you hound them for a month. I don't have time to be a student and do a teachers job as well. This university is providing a disservice to its students and using the term HBCU to hide behind. Beware, go somewhere else!

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff can be a great place for students to succeed. That is, if you are willing to deal with all the unnecessary things this campus has... Make sure you want to be in this environment before you make that final decision.

UAPB is a wonderful institution. It has a rich history that I am very proud to further as a student there. Of course, there are a few things about the school that I do not enjoy, but as a whole I do love my school. On a scale of 1 to 10 with every aspect of college included I would rate Uapb at 7.447.

The Faculty is helpful & they assist you with toutoring if you need it. They have scholorships for those who are accepted & need to aquire financial aid. If you want there's a way you can obtian a work- study for credit.

UAPB is in the middle of the hood and smells. They are always trying to get money out of people. This school has some good things about it to like the football team and the class sizes.

UAPB is revetatively same in size around the community of Pine Bluff. Mass Communications and Biology department are outstanding. Also there is a close student teacher student bond for all.

I think the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is a great school to attend. It's a very historical school and is the oldest HBCU with a lot of notoriety. Also, the school provides helpful instructors as well as staff members.

UAPB is a great school it is a lot of hands on learning. I think that more people should come to Pine Bluff and give it a chance. the best thing about it is that we learn a lot while having fun incorporated with our study schedules.
