University of Buckingham

Overseen at its founding by then-Education Secretary Margaret Thatcher, the University of Buckingham is the oldest private university in the United Kingdom. UB offers undergraduate degrees in 29 fields of study. In addition, the university’s accelerated degree program enables students to earn a 2-year degree in 19 subjects. For sports fans, Buckingham meets rival Cranfield University in an annual Varsity Competition comprising matches in seven athletic events including rugby, cricket, and English football.
