It all depends on your friends and how social you are. There are parties all the time at the frats and sorority houses. But considering it is so close to disneyland and knotts berry farm, newport beach and just about an hour from Los Angeles, you wont be getting bored for a while if you take the time out to look.

Hang out with friends, UTC, the tunnels... Not really much to do in UCI. Not a big party school.

I'm an introvert, so I spend time alone doing anything I feel like. Walking around campus is really nice, since it's really calm and the weather is never too bad. It's very safe here, so sometimes I walk around during midnight. There's a shuttle that will take you to the beach, and also another that takes you to the mall. There's also clubs, so joining one can give you more things to do.

There is the beach, University Town Center, Irvine Spectrum, and Fashion Island. Disneyland is 20 min away if you have a car.

You should usually join a club so that you always have something to do each week. There are fun activities happening in the dorms, and even if you don't want to stay on campus, there are a lot of options outside of school.

What you can do for fun is go to the Anteater Recreational Center which is the campus gym. There is so much you can do there.

When they say there are hundreds of clubs THEY ARE NOT KIDDING. Club day during welcome week is both thrilling and overwhelming! The ARC (Anteater Recreation Center) has a large gym and pool, along with access to great classes including cooking, sailing, and scuba diving. There are two large shopping malls nearby (Irvine Spectrum and Fashion Island), as well as Newport Beach! The school is also a short distance from Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, and more!

There is a Zot Center on campus which has video consoles like PlayStation 4, XboxOne, and Wii. They also have Pool in the Zot Center so you could compete against your friends. Each Hall has at least one game set which the most common I have seen is Ping Pong and Pool. To have more fun you could go to the ARC which is a big gym that has many activities you could do. They have rock climbing and zip lining. Around the campus you could go with your friends to watch a movie or to go bowling if you want. Disneyland is close to the campus so if you have a Disney Pass or have the money to purchase one you could go to Disneyland if you want.

At UCI, I like going to the school gym which is not far from where I live. The place is massive and there's so many things you can do there--dance, martial arts, swim, and lift weights are some of the things I like to do when I'm here. There are also many locations on campus with pianos, which I liked to use sometimes. There are also many numerous campus clubs to join. You can go to the library to read. You can also go running around the campus which is fun. Honestly though there is not much to do in the community so that's one thing that's lacking at UCI. You could go to the beach though. It's close to Newport beach--about 10 minutes drive away.
