There are many organizations on campus that hold their own fun events. There are also large all-campus events that include dancing, music, and free food. There are also many attractions around UCSD to visit such as the beaches, zoos, amusement parks and more

  • Apr-08-2015 I am researching this school and have visited the campus

UCSD does seem kind of on the quiet side, however, I believe if you look for the fun, you will be able to find it.

I go and explore San Diego with my friends. There is always something to do and going out of campus is always an adventure. San Diego is very clean, pretty, and nice place.

The beach is just a 20-30 minute walk, depending on where you live on campus, and if you don't want to walk, you can always take the shuttles and buses. The buses can also take you off campus too the shopping center about 5 minutes away, as well as the mall that's not much further, or downtown San Diego, which is a bit of a longer trip, but worth it. On campus, there are often times events held by UCSD or the individual colleges for you to attend as well throughout the quarters. Just exploring the campus or hanging out in the dorms can be fun as well!

UCSD is located minutes from the sea, so take advantage of that! UCSD provides many different recreational classes in hiking, surfing, zumba, kayaking etc. If that's not your thing, San Diego is also filled with endless sites like balboa park, mission beach, etc.

Many students take full advantage of the beaches located really close to campus. But other than that, UCSD is in a fairly isolated location. Buses and transportation are pretty convenient but downtown San Diego is about a 30 minute drive from campus - and finding a parking spot is a disaster here.

You name it, there is probably a group that does it. Several sports teams, for all levels of experience (or lack thereof). Many student organizations to be a member of, as varied as the students that come here to learn. Easy to make friends in any of the 6 colleges, and to meet up and do your own thing, whether it be gaming, partying, chatting., etc.
