Teachers can be great, but you must go to class to actually learn. I never thought I'd be skipping classes, but it happens and I learned the hard way that this is NOT smart. Discussions with TAs can be incredibly helpful as well. I had a math class where I learned more from the TA than I did from the Professor, so it definitely helps to go to both to become a successful student at UCSD.

Located in beautiful La Jolla, California just minutes away from the beach, UCSD's location is hard to beat. Home to world-renowned academics, intelligence and work ethic among UCSD students have become pandemics. Though right now overshadowed by Stanford, UC Berkeley, and ULCA, UCSD may be a formidable rival one day.

A beautiful campus that challenges you to do well academically. There is a non-competitive atmosphere and students are willing to help each other do well. The quarter system is extremely fast paced and requires focus and dedication.

UCSD is everything I wanted out of a school -- I love it here! The campus life is definitely present, but decentralized enough that you are free to participate however much you wish to. The location is wonderful and the opportunities are endless -- the perfect place to start your adult life and college academic career!

UC San Diego is in a beautiful location, on the cliffs above the beach, easy to get to and not to far away from the city. It serves as an amazing place to further you education (you really will learn a lot here) and have a fun filled four years because there are tons of things to do. The people here are the best, theres no doubt that if you come to UCSD that you find people that you'll be friends with forever.

Great school if you love the beach, as it's walking distance to several beaches and has amazing views from lots of the housing on campus. The campus itself is also beautiful and very big, so you definitely get a bit of exercise in if you are walking to all of your classes! If you are a city person it's not great if you don't have a car, as it takes about an hour or so to get to downtown by bus, however, there are some other urban places to explore that are a little closer.

Nice and challenging school. Need to seek out social opportunities they won't just come to you. Can be socially dead if that is what you make of it. Can also be very fun if that is what you make of it.

A great school with a good academic reputation and rigor. Social environment is a little quiet at times, but I prefer that. Overall I would recommend it.

Love the way it is set up, but it is a little empty at times because of the large campus.
