Teachers can be great, but you must go to class to actually learn. I never thought I'd be skipping classes, but it happens and I learned the hard way that this is NOT smart. Discussions with TAs can be incredibly helpful as well. I had a math class where I learned more from the TA than I did from the Professor, so it definitely helps to go to both to become a successful student at UCSD.

I'm impressed with the Cognitive Science department. Undergrad specialization is especially handy for those who only plan on getting a B.A/S.. Additionally, UCSD is one of the few schools that offers a B.S. in Cognitive Science. Definitely the place to be.

Campus is always buzzing, countless clubs and activities throughout the year to join, almost always found on Library Walk! Academically, it is challenging, but doable if one is willing to put in the effort, so try to adjust to college life fast! Overall a very calm vibe across campus, always feel safe, even walking home late at night, feel like I fit in.

The campus is huge and nice. The academic environment is strict, compared to the free campus environment. The location is pretty great, as it is located in La Jolla, near a beach.

it's like hogwarts, but replace magic with science. there are six liberal arts colleges, like houses, with their own values and intentions for their students, which will emphasise your academic and moral strengths. the research and other projects on campus are incredible, and it is a must to get involved.
