UCSB has every aspect you'd expect from a beachfront university. It's very laid back and open to all types of people. There is a place for everyone here.

UCSB is far better than I'd ever anticipated. I'd originally been super set on going to UCI but my experience here has shown me that I made the right decision in choosing to come here. The lagoon is beautiful, as well as the beach (both of which are within minutes away from the dorms), and the food at IV isn't bad (boba!!!!). Most people here are very friendly and willing to help a fellow classmate, and club activities are super fun to participate in. You won't regret going here.

UCSB is the most beautiful campus. The people here are amazing and you can always find a group in which you will feel at home with. It is also where you learn to work hard and play hard too because life is a little bit of both.

A fun, active school but not a lot of intelligence, personality, or diversity

I am a local resident of the area by UCSB. I have been mentored by a couple of the UCSB college professors. The professors at UCSB are truly awesome. The research work available to the students is fantastic.

Don't let the party reputation put you off (or be the only reason you come). UCSB has a strong academic foundation and you should take your studies seriously. One of the prettiest campuses full of great people.

The campus is just stunning, a classic California landscape. From my experience visiting, the students and staff were friendly enough. The atmosphere is very welcoming, but the academics and programs are obviously very rigorous.
