UCSB is full of an amazingly friendly, genuine, and introspective human beings. There's lots of interesting clubs and activities to keep your schedule full on top of academics. It's academically challenging and offers lots of opportunities and experiences if you just reach out and look for them.

Located on beachfront property, UCSB is a beautiful but nuanced university. The vibrant social scene in nearby Isla Vista is a counterpoint to the serious academic atmosphere that pervades the campus. Despite problems with course selection, UCSB is a good choice for transfers and a great choice for incoming freshmen.

Beautiful and easy to navigate campus, friendly people, academically strong. Has a reputation as a bit of a party school but that just allows those who focus to do really well. This is the best combination of academics, affordability (for in state), and having a college social life.

The best choice I have made all my life is attending UCSB. Here at UCSB, so many opportunities have presented themselves and I have made many longtime friends. At UCSB you will not only get an amazing top notch education but also you will make great memories; for that reason, I rate UCSB a 10/10.

UCSB is the perfect school for students who are serious about their academics but also want to have fun meeting new people, studying on the beach, and taking advantage of what So-Cal has to offer. With its beautiful location and close knit community, UCSB will become your home away from home in no time. We Gauchos "Gaucho Back" no matter what.

When visiting colleges over the summer, this was the only one that I actually wanted to get out of the car and explore. I fell in love with the campus instantly and while further researching the school I knew that this was my top choice.

I really loved the school when I visited and had an incredibly charismatic tour guide. My only concern is the town of Santa Barbara, I was wondering if current students could tell me if they find the area to be fun and have lots of things you could do there for fun?

ucsb is a beautiful research-oriented university located right next to the beach. although it has a "party reputation," this is merely a stereotype that possesses little basis (although people are a lot more well-balanced here... cough cough berkeley). overall, i chose to come here (committed two weeks ago) because i got into the honors program (tons and tons of benefits), it had my major and was pretty good at psychology and biology (my major is biopsychology), and because i felt i connected with the people on campus (tons of happy and down-to-earth people).
