  • Oct-02-2016 I am researching this school and have not visited the campus

When visiting colleges over the summer, this was the only one that I actually wanted to get out of the car and explore. I fell in love with the campus instantly and while further researching the school I knew that this was my top choice.

I really loved the school when I visited and had an incredibly charismatic tour guide. My only concern is the town of Santa Barbara, I was wondering if current students could tell me if they find the area to be fun and have lots of things you could do there for fun?

ucsb is a beautiful research-oriented university located right next to the beach. although it has a "party reputation," this is merely a stereotype that possesses little basis (although people are a lot more well-balanced here... cough cough berkeley). overall, i chose to come here (committed two weeks ago) because i got into the honors program (tons and tons of benefits), it had my major and was pretty good at psychology and biology (my major is biopsychology), and because i felt i connected with the people on campus (tons of happy and down-to-earth people).

A beautiful and acclaimed college with a beachfront campus! A rigorous and challenging experience without being overwhelming. A balanced school with a perfect blend of academics and student life.

UCSB has every aspect you'd expect from a beachfront university. It's very laid back and open to all types of people. There is a place for everyone here.

UCSB is far better than I'd ever anticipated. I'd originally been super set on going to UCI but my experience here has shown me that I made the right decision in choosing to come here. The lagoon is beautiful, as well as the beach (both of which are within minutes away from the dorms), and the food at IV isn't bad (boba!!!!). Most people here are very friendly and willing to help a fellow classmate, and club activities are super fun to participate in. You won't regret going here.

UCSB is the most beautiful campus. The people here are amazing and you can always find a group in which you will feel at home with. It is also where you learn to work hard and play hard too because life is a little bit of both.

A fun, active school but not a lot of intelligence, personality, or diversity
