Apply for your financial aid very, very early. Get into study groups for all your classes, there is strength in numbers. Study most as you can, school first, work second and not last.

A school where you're class size is small so that means a lot of chances to know your professor and understand their methods of teaching. It's easy to meet new people and develop friendships. Naturally, everyone helps each other strive for success.

Its a wonderful experience coming to this University as a first in the family to go to college. The classes are small so you have a good chance to know the professor and even understand more in lectures. You may not have the dorm and all that good stuff experience but what really does matter is getting a degree and what you really did in school while studying.

Attending this university is an amazing option for people who don't have the money for colleges like the main campus and it does offer many opportunities for students to explore careers. The orientation of the school in the middle of downtown can be daunting for some when it comes to Houston traffic, but as far as I can see many students who live up to an hour away are willing to make the journey. Also, this is an up and coming school that just built an entirely new wing in the main building for research rooms and for health classes in order to make room for the new Health major that will be offered there in the fall of 2015.

A great university that is affordable, has the small classes and a place to grow. A beacon of greatness in a city that gives anything but greatness.

UHD is a quality university that has small classes and numerous connections with the business community. The centralized location in downtown Houston make commuting easy and provides opportunities for students to walk to the office buildings to put in applications and to seek internships. My sister graduated UHD and is a successful CPA.

A good place to get used to the faster pace of a college environment. Like all schools, it has its great professors and its not so great professors. UHD is comprised of three main buildings in downtown Houston which are very close to each other but because students, professors, and staff members all call the buildings by different names, it can get confusing trying to figure out which building is which.

University of Houston-Downtown is a school that you wouldn't lost in campus. Unlike large size university, you need a map to get direction for not short tern time, drive several minutes to tons minutes to go from one building to another building; in UHD, you only need to walk few minutes from one building to another one.

Professors lecture more than they teach. The amount of classes and hours available to night students are low. Still there are very friendly professors and staff members.
