University of Houston-Victoria is a state-funded institution and part of the U of H system. The school operates a satellite location in a suburb of Houston, Katy. UHV offers a Degree in Three program where students can graduate one year earlier in fields such as English, history, criminal justice, communications, and psychology. The school provides many opportunities for students to get involved with the community through service projects such as Hunger and Homelessness Awareness, National Volunteer Week, Project Vote, and Jags Join In: Day of Service.
UHV is a great college pretty much for anyone because it is low cost, has flexible schedules, and professors who will do anything to help you. The dorms were okay, but this past year they really improved and their cafeteria has really great food. Lastly, UHV is also a smaller school so the financial aid office is easier to reach, there's more one-on-one time with professors and they're alot of opportunities to start your own club or organization.

I would rate the University of Houston- Victoria as a 7 because the city of Victoria is not as grand as well as many adventurous sites to explore; however, the University itself is currently growing rapidly in terms of population. I enjoy the more intimate student to teacher relationships. There are no more than 40 in a classroom, allowing the students to receive more attention when needed.
