The University of Illinois is a Hispanic-Serving public institution with the highest research classification given by The Carnegie Foundation. What began as several private health colleges is now the largest medical school in the country with Psychology, Biology, and Nursing among the top fields of study. The diverse campus is located near public transportation stops making the campus accessible to commuters and giving students who live on campus admittance to the city of Chicago.
Although this is a commuter school, I love being here every day. The instructors are helpful and understanding of any situation you might be in and there are more opportunities on campus to get involved with than I had thought. You meet a lot of different people and will find that the school is great whether you are a commuter or resident.
