There is a beautiful to explore!! Many free art museums, parks. Definitely go out! The reason I picked UIC was because I knew I would get bored at schools like UIUC because they were in the middle of no where.

The Rec Center is fun for working out or hanging out with friends. If you have a thing for sports many clubs meet at the Rec Center to prepare for their season. Go to the home games! There's almost always giveaways and prizes at the games. You're right next to the downtown area of Chicago so go explore. Chicago has many museums and fun places to hang out.

Being so close to the loop you can easily take the train or the bus downtown. You can go to the Water Tower, Millennium Park, etc. On campus you could join a sorority or go to basketball games.

The school is literally in Chicago. There are infinite possibilities when it comes to things to do for fun. You could go explore neighborhoods like Wicker Park, Logan Square, or Lincoln Park. You could head over to millennium park or the museum campus. If you're a full time student you get a CTA pass to use while school is in session so getting around the city is very easy. You get out what you put in.

the city of chicago is your backyard. you could go to millennium park for a concert, the united center is only a blue line stop away and then some walking, so going to a bulls or blackhawks game is super easy. any tourist attraction in chicago is yours and since the school provides a pass for free public transportation while school is in session it doesn't cost anything but time to get there. on taylor street there are several bars such as vintage lounge or ten doors that students frequently go to on thursday nights. there are also a couple of pizza places open really late into the night that go for about $2 for enormous slices. big g's and taylor made are my favorites.

The greatest perk about attending UIC is that it's right next to Chicago! A short train ride to the city where you can go shopping, eat food, go sightseeing and be able to come back to campus for your next class.

UIC is located between Greektown and Little Italy so there is a lot of good food options, of varrying price, within walking distance. Also your a 20 minute train ride from the Magnificent Mile, which even if you can't afford to shop there is extremely exciting to walk around and experience the vibrance of the city. The school also offers coed leagues for a wide variety of sports for those who want to just have fun playing games.
