I am currently a junior at UMES, also known as the University of Maryland Eastern shore and I am a Biology major pursuing my degree in Pharmacy. This school opened doors for me with many opportunities because I want to learn more about medicine and this school helps you work hard to the fullest to gain more knowledge into what your studying. I’ve really found who I am while being in this school and it amazes me. You get to meet a lot of new people from different places and cultures and it helps you branch out more. This school taught me how to be an independent person through all my criterias. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I didn’t go to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. This school offers good education and helps you gain more knowledge to everything. Education is the key to success and a brighter future!

UMES is affordable and there arent as many students in lectures compared to bigger universities. But it is in the middle of nowhere, so unless you have a car, theres really nothing to do and nowhere to go. Majority of the academic/educational buildings need a whole new revamp because either the building is falling apart, has no air conditioning, has bug problems, is just downright old, or all of the above!

UMES has helped me come out of my shell and be more independent. I had to put everything that my parents taught to use and you know it really does work.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is a very closely organized school. They have a strong presence of a family on campus. Would need transportation due to being not close to the city.

It's a beautiful campus. It's close to DC, Baltimore and Annapolis. (2-3 hour drive) They have lots of majors to chose from.

UMES is a small school with a lot of school spirit. There is diversity here in spite of this school being an HBCU. It's not a party school like how many people say it is, we do put in hard work in the classrooms.

This school is very unorganized and lazy so you must take action when trying to get things done but besides that the campus is beautiful and you meet a lot of great people. The professors are hit and miss so you might get a great teacher or a real bad one. You are in the middle of nowhere so having transportation is a key to getting around.

This school is a great school with many great opportunities activities. If I could, it would be a couple of things I would change but overall this is a great choice for a university!
