There is always something going on at UMass Amherst. Joining clubs is an easy way to find out more about events that interest you and even get involved in running them in the future.

There are a lot of fun things to do If you manage your time well. Instrumental sports, educational student organizations specific to majors but accept students of any major, karate, hip hop club, parkour club, tightrope club, gospel choir, religious student organizations, Greek life, division 1 sports, club sports, on campus dances, sports events, chess club, anime club, clubs for different racial groups, ect. You can even start your own club If you want to. Oh, and eating is fun too.

With so many clubs and sports to choose from, there is literally something for everyone on campus. The downtown area of Amherst is a short walking distance from Central living area. The PVTA buses are free, so make use of them. Northampton is a town over and has so much to offer in terms of shopping or just hanging out. On campus you can always find live music, good food, and nice people.

Go out to town or northhampton. Join clubs and teams. Go to different events. Hangout on the grass and soak in some sun while it's available. I mostly go to the library or my room.

Join marching band. Join clubs, the outdoor club has always looked really cool. Stay active and fit, it will definitely make your time more fun. Meet people in your dorm, it helps. Lots of partying, but that's obvious considered we are called Zoomass for a reason. But there are plenty of people that don't party if that's not your scene. Just get involved, it will be a fun time.

I could write so much about this, but there's a bus system that goes for free (for students) to Northampton all the time which is a great town (especially for geeks who like comics and art and stuff- it's a very fun town). Amherst can get a little boring because it's in the middle of nowhere, but there's enough to do like get late-night donuts at Glazed or just eat pizza and watch marathons of Pawn Stars if you want. Overall, there's a lot of opportunity to have fun. LGBTQA+ dances a few times a year, parties, clubs, and so on.
