Am learning a lot
I love the classes and my teachers. Its really cool to be in such a diverse environment.
Am enjoying being here
Honestly, I had the most horrific experiences with my roommates and the housing here. The Office of Student Housing is awful. They are not helpful and they don't have an effective system in place. If you have any problems with your roommates, the school says they have resources but... I have not had good experiences with them. I've been in contact with the Dean of Students and the Director of Student Housing and neither of them have done much to help me. To read more about my experiences I have a UMB Blog at http://blogs.umb.edu/emilylevin002/
Bang for the buck
The cost is low but paying for an apartment can get pretty pricey.
Tips for prospective students
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE GOING TO RENT AN APARTMENT. So many things can go wrong. And you won't get ANY help from the school. Even if they assure you that they will help you, take it from someone who's been there and done that.
Great for these types of students
Still living with their parents or adults going back to school

stay focus, and know when to take a day off
Academic Rigor
Academically is tough and does why most students don't take more than 4 courses per semester
Dorm Life
UMB does not have dorms.
Food and Dining
The food is not like mom's but is very good.
What to do for fun
For fun we just go to the city of Boston, and hangout at restaurant of bar.

The school is great for those who rather commute or live off campus because there are no dorms but it is in the city and accessible by the T. The professors are helpful when you need them, there is always an event going on so you will never be bored, and it is extremely diverse. Faculty and students make this University one big community.
Tips for prospective students
Get involved with clubs on campus. It is a great way to meet people because the school is so large. Students may also want to take advantage of their professors' office hours whenever they need extra help or just have a homework question.
Academic Rigor
You ultimately choose your classes but Professors will push you to think more critically.
Dorm Life
There aren't dorms but UMass Boston does help with campus housing.
Food and Dining
There is one large cafe with a variety of foods all throughout the day. There are also smaller cafes around campus.
What to do for fun
You can take kayaking lessons, go on a harbor cruise, watch movies under the stars outside our Campus Center and much more!
Bang for the buck
The University is a little more on the affordable side compared to other schools in the city and the financial aid office tries to help any way they can. Along with advisers and specific programs, the schools tries to help you save money.
Clubs and Activities
There are over 120 different clubs on campus that are always hosting fabulous events. And you can even start your own club!
Campus Safety
Many events happen around campus because we are on a busy street and in the city but the school is very good about alerting us via email or text about what is going on.
