The University of Minnesota Morris is a public, liberal arts institution established two and a half hours northwest of Minneapolis. While UMM offers a variety of majors and minors, the university also offers a number of pre-professional programs and the ability to create a unique area of concentration. First-year students, in addition to their advisor, are also provided with a success coach, who help students connect with others, explore campus resources, and identify their personal strengths. Native American high school students can apply for the university’s Wind-STEP program, which is a free, two-week summer program to learn about careers in science, geographical information science, and wind energy.
