The University of Minnesota Rochester is one of five public universities in the UM system. The newest campus, UM Rochester was opened in the downtown area, near the Mayo Clinic, in December 2006 and exclusively offers degrees in health science and biotechnology. This campus is home to the Center for Learning Innovation (CLI) focusing on undergraduate pedagogy in the living laboratory setting. UMR students are able to take advantage of all opportunities afforded to University of Michigan students, such as Study Abroad, on top of the National Study Exchange offered at Rochester.
