There are plenty of clubs and activities to get involved in, from the Solar-Powered Car competition to Pokémon League to religious organizations to get involved with. You fancy yourself an advocate of social justice? There are plenty of groups for you to get involved with. Want to take a load off and play video games with friends? There are clubs for that. The University offers free movies on Fridays. Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and the Mall of America are all a relatively short ride away on the Light Rail, which opens up a lot of recreational opportunities.

Hit up a sports game! Many of the Division 1 sports at the U, you can get in for free! Just check the schedules. You live in Downtown Minneapolis! Go catch a movie at Coffman! Head into Minneapolis to catch a band playing, go to the Mall of America, hit up a party! The possibilities are endless but you choose what you want to do!

Join a student organization or intramural sports. Downtown Minneapolis is only a short train ride away also. Mall of America is easy to get to using the train but it does take at least a half hour to get to from campus.

You are located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, the opportunities are endless. You will never be bored, and there is almost too much to do because you almost seem to not have enough time to enjoy everything the twin cities has to offer. Mall of America is a train ride away, the twin cities has multiple venues for the art lovers, and a new nfl football stadium is being built. If you can think of it, Minneapolis has it.

The U's location in the Twin Cities means there's always something going on. There are plenty of concert venues right near campus. The Student Union Activities board also provides lots of entertainment, including a free movie every weekend at Coffman Union. Gopher sporting events, especially men's hockey, men's basketball, and football, are always a good time.

If you are bored while you attend the University of Minnesota you are doing something wrong. There are hundreds of clubs to be a part of, both professional and social. They are both a great way to meet friends and to learn and develop skills and connections outside of class. With the Twin Cities available to you there is plenty to do in the way of sporting events, concerts, shows and shopping. If you are hurting for cash, the Coffman Memorial Student Union has a cheap bowling alley and movie theater, as well as The Whole, a small concert venue. Greek life has a presence on campus that is not overwhelming to those who are not greek but large enough that those who choose to rush will have a great time (about 10%). Parties and social life are what you make it. As with any large university you can party and go out as much as you'd like, but it is important to balance you're course work as well.

The best part about the U of MN is that it's in the center of the cities. There are two commercial and restaurant areas around the university - Dinkytown and Stadium Village. Just walking around the area is a lot of fun - plus, there are tons of student group events. In addition, the university isn't too far away from downtown, where there is always a lot going on.
