If you are willing to spend the time, the professors are more than willing to help you out. Some of the classes are hard and require after class work, but in the end it's all worth it. They don't restrict you on what you can / can't take. It's up to you. They have great tools that allow you to plan out your entire four or five year schedule and it shows you just want you need to take to receive your degree.

It's a great campus; right in the city so tons of things to do, plenty of ways to get around and so beautiful. The education is good as well and the reputation of the school is solid. But the main thing for me is that whatever you could want this school has--want a small, tightknit community? There are plenty of ways to find that here. Want the camaraderie spirit as you gather round for your sports team? Gophers have that too. Want quiet coffeehouses with great vibes for studying and cute insta pics or boppin' new places to go on a Friday night? You can have both here.

I seen the school and live close by so it is a advantage. The school helps you get different range of classes that is about your major. The school also helps you meet new students. The campus can also help you get some excersize when going to your next class for the day.

While the size of UMN might seem intimidating, the resources students gain from this are invaluable, especially once they get involved in research. I am an Earth Science student, which means I get a smaller department, close-knit experience on top of incredible access to cutting edge research. Minneapolis is also an incredible city, and living here has shaped my hobbies and interests.

University of Minnesota Twin Cities is pretty much all about perspective. During the Winter, things can be pretty annoying, but every other season is really enjoyable. The school itself is great however, and their programs are great as well. If you don't mind the Winter weather, then you should be set for a good education and fun.
