    Especially if you're paying in-state, there is no other place you can get this kind of an education for this cheap. And that isn't opinion. I'm studying at Carlson which has a 10% direct admit (from high school) acceptance rate and I'm paying less than 10,000 for tuition alone (it's around 9 with all the fees)

    Students pay less due to it being a public university, but UMN's academic rigor and reputation insures students' education is among the best in the nation. I am applying for graduate schools now, and I feel confident that with a UMN on my transcript, prospective advisers know I am well-trained and educated.

    whenever you're tired of the dorm food, go ahead and hit up the restaurants around the campus. you legit have so many options to choose from (mexican, chinese, italian, burgers, etc..) and if you're bored and got nothing to do, try hitting the rec center up.
