Leaving for college can be an intimidating next step of your life. Make the best decision of your life and live on campus in one of UNO's suite style dorms during the first year of college. This will help you to interact with other people your age and will give you the perfect platform for getting involved on our wonderful campus.

I recommend to take the College Career and Success course for freshman as this course helps teach you fundamentals about the the college life. Parking is always a pain, particularly the first week of the fall semester so I recommend to try to park on campus about an hour and a half early the first week. The shuttle runs from North (Dodge) to South (Pacific/Center) campus so if you decide to take the shuttle to your class, I would recommend to arrive at the stop 30 minutes prior to when you class starts.

Join groups and organizations, as they're great for networking and meeting new people in general, as the commuter-school nature of UNO makes it more difficult to do otherwise

Take the tour, but make an appointment with the department you want to enroll in as well. You get a much better feel for the school after speaking with the college/department you are considering.
