Founded six years before North Dakota achieved statehood, the University of North Dakota is a 4-year public university in eastern North Dakota and the state’s largest institution of higher learning. UND offers undergraduate degrees in over 225 academic programs and is responsible for graduating the most physicians in the state. Once a year, UND hosts the annual Feast of Nations, a festival of ethnic cuisines from around the world that functions as the largest multicultural event in the area. For sports fans, UND fields 17 varsity teams including a hockey team that frequently competes in the NCAA Frozen Four.
