You can explore Tacoma. UPS is very close to the waterfront and Ruston. In addition point defiance park is a 10 minute drive away. Seattle is about 45 minutes by car or you could take a bus, which will take longer but the school does provide orca cards so you can take public transportation for free.

You can hang out with your friends down at the Cellar, which is a pizza place on campus, open late, and with options of pizza, ice cream, and smoothies. Walking around the neighborhood is fun. The neighborhood surrounding campus is very nice, and offers some great views of the Puget Sound. On Saturday mornings, the Tacoma Farmer's Market in the Proctor District is cute and friendly and fun. It's easy to take a day trip to Seattle, only about an hour's drive from campus. Once in Seattle, there's a plethora of activities to choose from! The Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and all the other touristy things.

A lot of people like to hike on nearby trails, and just hangout on campus to party. Some people go to sports games, although that isn't something I have ever enjoyed.

Join clubs, organizations and activities that interest you. A lot of people head over to the cellar in their free time. The cellar is a student run pizza place that delivers great food.

There is a lot to do for fun. You can go on trips with Puget Sound Outdoors, you can go to point defiance for a hike, you can go shopping in Tacoma, take a trip to Seattle, and a lot of events and such on campus. There are a lot of things to do off campus, but it takes a bit of planning and effort to do them. I think that is good because it helps you stay focused on school work. I'd say that I am not bored out of my mind, but I am also not overwhelmed with options of things to do.

The clubs here are all really well-rounded and open to both beginners and people passionate about the subject. We have yoga club, ceramics club, nerdfighters club, beekeeping club, academic clubs, Greek life, social justice clubs, Queer and Allies club, literary magezines, theatre, a capella, and more. Our student government hosts movie nights for $1, and often show movies newly out on DVD. Events are constantly happening, be they presentations, speeches, concerts, or even professional chef's demonstrations.

The University of Puget Sound is located in Tacoma, a diverse city that is rich with culture. Downtown Tacoma offers various attractions, such as the Glass Museum, or the Tacoma Art Museum. There are also many quality restaurants in the area. Tacoma is also just 40 minutes south of Seattle. A train ride to Seattle from Tacoma is only $3.00. If you wish to stay on campus, there are many clubs to join, such as the Ultimate Frisbee team, or the Psychology Club. The Film Club shows a movie on campus every weekend for just $1.00.

There's tons of clubs you can join. Tacoma isn't the best city to hang out at, but travelling to Seattle can be fun (it's about an hour). Hang out at coffee shops, very Washingtonian activity. Hike/bike or go swimming. The school has a rock climbing wall as well.
