Am learning a lot
The University of Toledo is an excellent school. In the classes that I am taking right now, I am learning a lot. I feel like by the time I graduate, I will have received an excellent education.
Am enjoying being here
The campus is absolutely beautiful. It is a relatively large campus but not at all too big. I can walk to all of my classes in under ten minutes. I have also made a lot of great friends here. We can always find something to do. I am glad that I chose the University of Toledo as my college.
Bang for the buck
All colleges are going to be expensive. They all seem like you aren't getting a big bang for your buck at all. However, the University of Toledo isn't ridiculously expensive so it is better than all of the other schools that I looked at.
Tips for prospective students
Throughout the first week, go meet people! Don't stay hidden in your room. If there is any sort of bonfire or anything, go to it!! It will never be easier to make friends than it is in that first week. Another suggestion I have is to get involved. There are so many opportunities here but you will never find them if you are afraid to get involved. Attend meetings for clubs that you may think that you won't be interested in. Who knows? Maybe you'll find that you actually like doing something that you never considered. And, you may make friends there. Also, use your professors' office hours. Even if you aren't struggling in their class, go meet them. Let them know who you are and what you're interested in. They may tell you about exciting opportunities, such as study abroad programs. Plus, you never know if down the road you will need their help for a recommendation or something.
Great for these types of students
If you want great research opportunities, the University of Toledo is perfect for you. They have research opportunities for everyone. They even have a first year summer research experience that is just for first year students. They also have a great medical program and pharmacy program.

Am enjoying being here
I really enjoy being on campus. There is always a lot to do so you can never be bored
Bang for the buck
The cost to go here is a reasonable amount. They have payment plans that allows you to pay money every month, apposed to paying it all up front
Tips for prospective students
Get involved because you have a better time adjusting to college life. Take advantage of all the tutors they have available

Toledo is a great college with a great business program I would recommend to anyone. The teachers are very helpful, respectful and understanding to your desire to learn more and more. The students are very friendly and also want to help you learn just as much as they do.
Tips for prospective students
Never be afraid to ask for help. Without assistance, things will not go as smoothly as you think it could your first few years there.
Academic Rigor
The academic level set by the teachers and program are at a high bar by the first day of classes and makes you want to work harder whether you would want to or not.
Dorm Life
The dorm life is amazing. The way you can easily interact with your roommates and other people who attend the University makes it easy to build friendships with many people.
Food and Dining
The food and Dining is very good in my opinion. You have the option for either three square meals or just choosing to eat whatever kind of food you choose with your dining dollars. There are many kinds of food places on campus such as Subway, Pizza Hut, etc. While the Off campus food still consists of many other places.
What to do for fun
In college, there is always something fun and interesting to do. From playing basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, and other sports with friends. To joining social clubs to get more connected with people on campus you wouldn't usually see everyday. There's also internships if you aren't as interested in making friends than you are to testing your major interest and want other options.
Bang for the buck
I would say the music programs. Sure any music program would be decent in college, but Toledo's music program is more interesting than anyone would think if you actually go to it. The Jazz program is very well directed and I would say is worth a good listen to.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
The only sort of unusual tradition I have seen has been some of the Fraternity moves being done. I've seen people jog around campus in just their shorts and paint on their bodies chanting the names of the fraternity their in so that's always unusual to see.
Great for these types of students
Everything is great for any kind of student. Any kind of person will find something interesting to do on Toledo campus and that is a given.
Clubs and Activities
There are so many clubs and activities to do on campus it's unbelievable. The large amount of interesting people you can meet is truly amazing and is a must-do if you go to college.
Greek Life
I do not know much of the Greek Life as I am not a part of it.
Campus Safety
The campus safety is pretty high if I can say. There are emergency alarms every near 100 feet and security comes very fast. Police cars are frequently driving around places that are highly known for thefts and other bad things, so the rate of problems on campus has been dropping every year more and more.

The University of Toledo is a beautiful university! The students, staff, and professors are very willing and generous in helping you with your journey to success. Not only does the campus have a wide selection of programs and clubs you can pursue, they also have many ways you can earn money to pay for tuition!
Tips for prospective students
I am an undergraduate student, and a freshman at UT. For those high school seniors migrating here for 2014 I recommend you go on as many tours, incoming freshman events, and orientation, as soon as possible. There is so much to have done by the time you are expected to move in. UT is a convenient size campus, and takes about 15 minutes to get from one end to the other. If you can get acquainted and familiar with your locations and directions the first week of college will be a breeze! I also recommend you use that week to get familiar with the programs and work opportunities for those seniors looking for additional financial assistance in college. Remember, loans are helpful, but sometimes there are alternatives! UT is excellent when it comes to work study programs!
Academic Rigor
The University of Toledo is quite consistent with their level of academics. Depending on your major you will face a more than descent mound of homework and activity each semester. For seniors coming into the Nursing Program the competition is FIERCE! Stay on top of your game High School Seniors and College Transfers! UT specializes its programs to sort of weed out the best candidates to participate in their programs. Therefore the academic rigor is challenging. This school definitely has what you need to prepare you for real world/high demand careers!
Dorm Life
Dorm life is nice. The dorms range from apartments, fraternity housing, quads, doubles to singles. They actually recently built Ottawa West a new branch of the Ottawa House. This is specifically recommended for athletes. We halls that group you by your major and others that just introduce you to a variety of students! Luckily for incoming freshman (Parks Tower the freshman hall) has a dining hall located inside he building! Everyone is usually very nice and social when it comes to dorm living. You can find workout facilities in some of our halls and a laundry facility as well. Our Resident Assistants (RAs) make it even easier for you to get to know everyone with their constant hall event planning, and 24 hour assistance services to help you in whatever you need!
Food and Dining
I love the food here at UT! Enjoy our buffet style dining areas around campus which include many familiar names like SUBWAY, KFC, STARBUCKS, CHIPOTLE, MAGIC WOK (Chinese cuisine), and more! If you don't know, a former football player/ alumni/ NFL star just recently built a strip of restaurants and our brand new Barnes and Noble book store! If you'd rather get your back at home quickies such as yogurt, hot pockets, fruit juice, visit the POD! The POD is the on campus grocery store where they even have fresh deli sandwiches and hot soup made DAILY!
What to do for fun
There is way too much to do for fun here at UT! Besides the regular college parties we have basketball and tennis courts in numerous locations across campus. In addition we have volleyball nets put up during the good weather. Our recreational center which is huge, houses plenty of treadmills, weight rooms, rock climbing, basketball courts, etc. Oh, and did I forget to mention our Olympic sized Pool with a water slide!!!! lol
Bang for the buck
The University of Toledo offers great scholarships, and grants for those who qualify, so keep that GPA and those test scores up! Also, deadlines are major when it comes to applying for some of these scholarships. You actually get a scholarship for just being accepted if you have the qualifying GPA and SAT/ACT scores! By the way, UT has a pretty consistent record for keeping the tuition frozen. Yes, that means tuition has not increased this year or the last two years.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
One of my favorite locations on campus is Bowman Oddy's Laboratories. This is home to some math classes, and many Medical field majors. It is the only greenhouse on campus. YES, I SAID GREENHOUSE!
Great for these types of students
UT is the place for you if you are outgoing and open to new things! If you are the school spirit junkie (which is probably 98% of the school), new to the country, Nursing, law, criminal justice, or Business major definitely consider the University of Toledo. Also if you are interested in studying abroad UT is top notch in that area. Oh, and if I did not list your major it doesn't mean you shouldn't apply because I am a freshman so I only know so much.
Clubs and Activities
SOMA - christian association
CRU- christian association
TENNIS CLUB
SOCCER CLUB
LACROSSE CLUB
QUID DITCH CLUB - yes, you read correctly!
CAMP ADVENTURE- you travel to military bases!
SCIENCE CLUB
MATH CLUB
CHEER LEADING
FOOTBALL
SOCCER
TENNIS
FRATERNITY AND SORORITY RECRUITING- so much FUN, GO GREEKS!
SWIMMING
TRACK AND FIELD
AND SO SO SO MUCH MORE.....Can't find the right club for you, then team up with some friends, notify school, and MAKE IT!!

Greek Life
Fraternities and Sororities get their own community to live in. The GREEK LIFE consists of beautiful brick townhouses that present each frat or sororities name in the front in beautiful, colorful images and banners. They participate in many group events and spirit activities for the school.
Campus Safety
Campus safety is extremely important at UT. You will find emergency help poles all over campus, so in case of an emergency you can press the button located on that pole and receive help right away! UT has had a couple incidents recently, but what university/college hasn't? Please don't let UT's occasional bad seeds depict your view on our school. As long as you get to your resident halls before dark, and be cautious about who you associate yourself with (like the real world) everything will be fine. We have constant police patrol all over campus 24/7.

Am enjoying being here

I absolutely love my university. If you plan on attending higher education for Pharmacy, Engineering or Business -- The University of Toledo is most definitely the choice for you. Also, if you happen to be outgoing and like meeting new people then check out Greek life; I never thought I would ever go Greek but it has made me a better person and presented me with so many opportunities.
Tips for prospective students
Definitely get involved with student organizations (especially the ones specific to your Major) and Greek Life. There are organizations available for anyone and if you can't find one you like, make your own! If you want to have a great college experience, you have to get out there and be apart of something bigger than yourself.
Academic Rigor
The six-year PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) is a very tough program to get into. But once you get in, job placement is 100% and starting out with a $100,000+ salary.
Dorm Life
Join a freshman only dorm to truly have the college experience. The dorms that are available to upperclassmen may be a little newer/nicer but a lot less social.
Food and Dining
Food is pretty good. I mean, anything gets old after repetition.
What to do for fun
Joining Greek Life, student organizations, Hookah bars, bars, house parties, bowling, lasertag, exercising, attending programs held by the university.
Bang for the buck
University of Toledo is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Getting involved in campus is key to making the most of your collegiate experience. All of these people I have met will be my lifelong friends without a doubt. Along with receiving the best college education compared with similar sized universities.

Maybe about once a year you will hear about someone getting stuff stolen but it's usually from other college students.

The campus is very beautiful and the maintenance is always keeping it nice and looking great all year round. Also, the people here are honestly some of the nicest people I've met in my life, from the professors, to the students, to the advisors; even the President always makes sure she says hi whenever passing by. It truly has a great vibe and it makes you want to be here and do things.
Tips for prospective students
If you are considering the University, I recommend definitely going to check out the specific department you're interested in because that was probably the biggest factor that made me decide that Toledo was the place for me. It helped introduce me to the people who were going to be my peers and my mentors and professors. Also, when I came back a couple of months afterwards for a special Honors Scholarship Day, the leaders of my department remembered me by name and it took a lot of pressure out of the interview process and really made me feel like I belonged here.
Academic Rigor
This school, especially depending on the major you choose, is very rigorous academically. All of your professors know how to push you to do your very best work all the time, and just as you shouldn't, they won't accept anything less than what they know is your best. They aren't mean or too hard on you, they just know what you should expect for yourself, and they help you get to the point where you know you are working as hard as you can and always putting your best foot forward and putting in all of your effort.
Dorm Life
I chose to live in the Honors Academic Village my freshman year and this is the first year the dorms have been here. They are extremely nice and I definitely recommend living there if you can. They are the nicest out of all of the dorms by far, but they are also one of the most, if not the most, expensive out of all of the different options. It is closer to a lot of classes to though which is nice in the winter.
Food and Dining
The food itself is pretty good. Parks has great food so if you live there thats very convenient. Ottawa is pretty good as well, and so is South Dining. I personally have never been to International House for food, but people say that it is good too. Croutonz is a restaurant in the Union that is like Subway but with salads and it is amazing. There is also Magic Wok, Agave, Pizza Hut, Subway, and Phoenicia which sells pretty good Greek food. The problem with the dining halls and restaurants is that the hours are pretty terrible. You should always make sure you have food in your dorm because a lot of the times, especially when it gets late in the day or if you have to stay at school for a holiday, the dining halls will be closed.
What to do for fun
There are normally always sports games that you can go to, or you can go to the Rec to play pool or ping pong. You can also go to the pool in the Rec center or walk or bike around campus. Also, there are a bunch of hookah bars right around campus that are fun if you're into things like that. Also, there is a pretty big Greek life presence on campus, so whether or not you are in a sorority or fraternity, you can normally get into one of their parties as long as it isn't a social. Also, if you make a lot of friends and meet people who live off campus, chances are you'll always have somewhere to go. Chasers is a 18+ bar that a lot of people end up at, especially if they were at a townhouse party earlier in the night. It's a pretty gross place, but super fun after parties to go and dance.
