    UVM is a little expensive, but they don't call it The Public Ivy for nothing. You get an amazing education, and are surrounded by people who are on a similar level academically.

    In state is a good value depending on your major. Paying most of your out-of-state tuition is most likely going to be a bad value unless you put a high price tag on the advantages of your specific major at UVM or the town.

    UVM's tuition is overly priced - as many universities are. I recommend making sure that you can afford the school - even if it is through scholarships - to ensure that you will not be hindered by debt after graduation.
