It's similar to the price you get from a lot of other colleges if you're from out of state and UVM awards scholarships to many students.

It is an okay school for the money. But if you don't get a lot of scholarships then it can get expensive and it probably isn't worth it.

I lived in UHeights North as an Honors College student. This (along with UHeights South) is widely considered the best dorm, because it's new and suite-style (four people split among two bedrooms and a bath). The dorm is nothing awful. My boyfriend lived in Converse, which has protruding ceiling pipes in the tiny rooms, one bathroom stall/shower for the whole hall, doorknobs that fall off and don't lock, and rotting facilities. If I was paying such a ludicrous price for THAT, I'd freak. Additionally, the academics are just meh, and the Sodexo food is AWFUL (they make you get a meal plan as a freshman). Don't go here unless you get a full ride.

Many in-state folks go elsewhere to get out of Vermont. Great in-state price. Ridiculously expensive for out of state.
