Vanderbilt is often confused with one of them Ivy League schools up in Connecticut or wherever, but with good reason. If you choose to attend the prestigious Vanderbilt University then you will receive a very fine education from professors who want you to succeed in acing their classes, reaching your goals, and finding your future. Professors will make time for you outside of class if you do not understand the material; they put themselves in our lives to teach us and they desperately want us to learn. The work at Vandy is not at all easy, but...

At Vanderbilt, community is extremely valued, companionship is prevalent, and the scenery is breathtaking. However, as a student who had only heard about all of the fantastic opportunities that Vanderbilt has to offer, I feel that it is best for one to actually experience the school itself by either going on a tour or fully committing and then witnessing the greatness that occurs at Vanderbilt for oneself -- be it from the minds of intelligent professors inside the classroom or through extracurricular activities. Moreover, since the academics at Vanderbilt are rigorous, it helps to really have time outside of the classroom that one might utilize by way of simply sitting in some shade and reading a book with a view of the gorgeous landscape or by trying something new out of the hundreds of clubs and activities.

The Vanderbilt community is a welcoming and inclusive family from move-in day on. The resource availability and professors in the Neuroscience and Psychology departments are unmatched. The first-year experience could not have been better from Vanderbilt’s end.

Vanderbilt University is an outstanding private university with high-achieving students with diverse interests and involvements. Located in Nashville, TN, the school is in the perfect place for students to live in a college community, but also venture into the city and explore. This academic institution provides challenging courses, but also a wonderful and supportive collegiate community.

when i shadowed a student through dore for a day (which i highly, highly reccomend), i was able to see that the school is very balanced academically and socially. my host student said that no one is super competitive and everyone helps each other and works hard in school while still having fun in life. the school is actually a lot smaller than i thought it would be and while there are people who fit the vandy stereotype, my host was jewish and the students in the class i sat in on were diverse (black, white, and even an international student from india!).
