Vanderbilt is often confused with one of them Ivy League schools up in Connecticut or wherever, but with good reason. If you choose to attend the prestigious Vanderbilt University then you will receive a very fine education from professors who want you to succeed in acing their classes, reaching your goals, and finding your future. Professors will make time for you outside of class if you do not understand the material; they put themselves in our lives to teach us and they desperately want us to learn. The work at Vandy is not at all easy, but...

when i shadowed a student through dore for a day (which i highly, highly reccomend), i was able to see that the school is very balanced academically and socially. my host student said that no one is super competitive and everyone helps each other and works hard in school while still having fun in life. the school is actually a lot smaller than i thought it would be and while there are people who fit the vandy stereotype, my host was jewish and the students in the class i sat in on were diverse (black, white, and even an international student from india!).

At first I was skeptical on how I would fit in with the campus and fellow students, but after the visit I can see that Vanderbilt is a school that welcomes every kind of person. It has activities for any lifestyle and has a close-knit community to where the people there feel like family. I have a feeling I, along with many others, will consider this place home.

  • Aug-19-2015 I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

I am currently an incoming freshman, but already from what little experience I have had with the school, I LOVE it! Everyone I have met attending Vanderbilt have all been super nice and the faculty I have had the pleasure to work with all seem to have the students in mind. I plan on doing pre-med and so far their program seems fantastic, with detailed information for everything pre-med on their website and in their emals.

The campus is a green haven right in busy Nashville. Vandy has an interesting history and the student tour guides were eager to tell us all about the Vandy culture. I especially liked the freshman dorming, four houses that compete against each other like Hogwarts.

Vanderbilt University is the epitome of the Work hard, play hard sentiment. Students are very motivated but at the same time are very involved with sports, greek life, and student organizations. This Division I school has class sizes in the smaller range, and the campus is designated as an arboretum.

Great place to experience all the pluses of an SEC education, like Greek life and football, with the academics and research of an Ivy League. Nashville is a huge draw to Vanderbilt and is an amazing place to live! Definitely your place if you like to temper your work with some play, and are extremely well-rounded and outgoing.

The tour guide was also very informative and friendly, a great representation of all Vanderbilt student, so if you visit- which you should- don't be afraid to ask questions!
