There are a lot of things to do for fun. The city throws events and VCU itself throws events. Also joining student groups help. I mostly do things with my group, BCM. You can also explore the James and take the bridge to Belle Isle. There are also a lot of museums all around VCU.

There is so much to do, both on campus and off! On campus, relaxing in Monroe Park is a lovely way to spend a warm afternoon. Richmond is overflowing with culture and activities, so numerous movie theaters, parks, restaurants, museums, art galleries and more are nearby.

The basketball games are exicting to go to. If you don't like to watch sports than there are many activities like mountain bike riding, rock climbing, hiking, water rafting, etc.. to do with the Cary street gym. If you're not into sports at all than there are events for the art students to attend. Around the campus are also many museums to visit.

There are always events hosted by many organizations that have music and free food! Every first Friday of the month as well everyone is welcomed to walk along broad street because there are many art show casings. They close down broad street for this events and there are many things that are given away as well activities that can be done. Also, on Monroe Park, there are always people hanging out and doing some type of activity. For example on nice days there are people who tight rope across Monroe Park and they always invite people who are interested to try it out.

Go to belle Isl, go to any of the parks around campus, watch the basketball games (go rams), go to the gym where they offer many classes, go to Cary Town; a street area with many local shops and restaurants, go swimming or hot tubing at the gym, or go rock climbing with friends.

I love Richmond,VA. I grew up here and the best part about VCU is the proximity to the James River. All year round, you can find people down by the river. The city is historic and great music is often showcased down on Brown's Island near the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
