because middletown is halfway between new york city and boston (hence the name middletown), lots of musicians traveling between the cities stop there to take a breather and perform for the students at discounted ticket prices. there have been a lot of musicians performing at wesleyan. the surrounding area looks somewhat boring, but there are probably still tons of things to do if (if!) you ever get bored. especially on campus. according to the information session guide, students' weekends are always full, because there is so much to do on campus. it's rarely "i need to find stuff to fill my time," and almost always "i need to find the time to do all this stuff."

See a concert, music performance, go to a society party (they're very open, anyone with an ID is let in), chill with friends, explore Middletown, see a free movie screening

Middletown CT is a bit dumpy, but there are a lot of clubs and fun things to do at Wesleyan itself.

If socializing is your thing, there are a lot of parties, formals, a couple of frats and sororities, music events, student groups, and more to engage in. If you're into sports, you can join one of the official teams or just play a sport for fun, like club volleyball. For those into the arts, there is the Center for the Arts (CFA), which hosts a lot of performances throughout the year. Some are free and some are offered at extremely reduced prices for Wes students. There are music, dance, and art classes available as well.

There is always a dil series going on. There is an abundance of a cappella shows, theatre performances, improv groups, interesting speakers, weslam slams. Never boring.

There are parties every weekend. What more do you want? Although if you're looking for more wholesome fun you could stop by the Freeman Athletic Center to workout, shoot some hoops, swim, or play whatever sport. We also have a university center with pool tables, Foosball, TVs, and videogames. You don't have to go all the way to the university center to watch TV though as there are some in every dorm lounge. Also there's quite a bit to do in town. You could catch a movie (that is if you aren't a fan of the movies they show on campus every Wednesday-Saturday), go skating, eat out, or a myriad of other interesting things. Basically there's a lot of fun stuff to do here at Wes.

There is a ton of things to do for fun. Although it is a D3 school in sports there are a ton of sports you can play and club teams you can join if you do not want to commit a lot of time to a varsity sport. There are also events always going on from film series to random poetry jams. There is always something going on and it is well advertised around campus.

Lots of on-campus activities, most of the events seem to be on campus and not in the town, but there is also easy access to boston and nyc.
