The food at the caf is often bland and not good for your digestive system but the other options such as the Grille or Jazzman's are good alternatives. Most places on campus will take meal plan swipes except for Subway which requires out of pocket money.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

Have been to the campus twice to visit and have had great food in the dining hall both times. Have not had the luxury of visiting the other food places but can't wait to try them out.

as of right now, in the union there is jazzmans (which is a coffee shop/cafe), subway downstairs (meal plan does not cover it, so it is out of pocket each time), and a tacobell/pizza hut combo with limited options. as for the caf, i personally never had any issues eating there besides the fact that you can only use so many meal swipes a day and they try to limit you to how many times you can use your own money/meal plan. a little silly if you ask me. but whatever. although there are limited options, i feel as if the food is fairly decent on campus. you don't have much of a choice, though. the highlands center is about 20-25 minutes away and everything else is a hike down off the hill. my advice would be to stock up once a month at kroger and prep weekly for your own meals. i did this my second year and lost 15-20 lbs due to the simple fact that i was eliminating all the taco bell and pizza hut that i found myself engorging when i had a chance to breathe between classes.

Food is ok but could be better. There are still enough options to suit different people. There is salad bar, sandwich bar, 2-3 types of pizza, meat, vegetables and fast food bar.

Like I said, you get used to it. It's not bad, it's got some variety, and their orange chicken is awesomeness.

If your a freshman girl and move into Roger's Hall, your lucky! The dinning hall or the caf as we call it is inside your dorm, just walk downstairs! It's very convenient to not walk outside when it cold, raining, snowing, Ect. Just to get some breakfast before class. The only thing I will complain about when it come to the caf, is the hours and the selection of food. They close @ 7 on school days, and I myself usually don't eat dinner that early. Also the selection of food is very good, but they have a set schedule on what's to eat. For example Tuesdays are always sand witch day while Fridays are usually stir fry day. If the caf is boring, there is always the union, which has Jazzman's Coffee Shop, The Grill, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and subway. They all take your meal plan as well, except subway. They take cash or card.

Living in a town with only two restaurants is tough but WL has some good options. The cafe is always pretty go to, while its not always amazing theres alot offered and you'll always find something (plus dessert is awesome). They also offer a coffee shop, a grille restaurant, a taco bell, a pizza hut, and a subway. All of these places can be paid for with your meal plan with the exclusion of subway.

The Union has Subway, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, The Grille, and Jazzman's café. All accept cash and cards, as well as the meal plans. The Caf, or cafeteria, is very good at catering to dietary needs. We have gluten free, vegetarian, and even vegan options. Pizza is offered daily. There's really something for everyone. Most of the food is pretty good, but there is the occasional complaint.

There are many on-sight restaurants that use the West Lib currency sudexo dollars. Taco bell, pizza hut, the grille, a coffee shop called jazzman's, and a cafeteria with decent and varied food all use sudexo dollars. Subway is also on campus, but requires money.

It feels like there are more Greek frats/sororities than students on campus. Well that's a bit of exaggeration but there are many options for such a small school as WLU. The best thing is that Greeks do not confront or oppress anybody who doesn't want to join them, so if it's not your thing you wouldn't even notice them much.

There are 2 national sororities on campus, Alpha Xi Delta and Chi Omega. Along with the national sororities are the 4 local chapters as well. When it comes to fraternities there are 4...or 5 local chapters on campus. There are no national frats.

The Greek Life on campus is exceptional. You always see sororities and frat houses doing things like bake sales or cookouts to raise money for things such as autism speaks.
