WVU is a big school; however, I have not met a professor who is not willing to help students outside of class. Even though there can be classrooms filled with 200 students at a time, it is very easy to get to know the professor and to work with them one-on-one to really understand the material. As long as the student is willing to work, the professor will work with them. Along with professors being a very useful resource, there are other options on campus such as tutors, study groups, and teacher assistants.

It's a very large and very big party school. The professors are not always on top of what they should be and a lot of the course work may not follow the syllabus. The basic amenities can be very difficult to get to if you're on the Evansdale campus because there is barely any food options.

A wonderfully welcoming environment with amazing faculty members and great opportunities of all kinds, WVU offers a wide variety of people who call themselves a Mountaineer. The split campus is beautiful and over 160 different majors are offered here, including puppetry! Classes can be challenging but teach you so much- this place really is almost heaven.

Sometimes getting past WVU's reputation can be hard, especially looking at it as a potential school. What I have told students who I meet visiting the college is that this is the kind of place where you feel completely at home. WVU has the best atmosphere and the college experience is what you make it.
