While WGU does not offer the in person social aspect that a traditional school may boast, it does offer plenty of on line chat. There are dedicated forums for students to talk about school, issues, helpful tips or just to know that there's another student out there. Many people have accountability threads, where they post their degree progress, which is helpful for other students to compare how they're doing and offer support and/or guidance.
