Established in 1893, Western New Mexico University is a public institution based in Silver City, NM, a short drive from Tucson, Albuquerque, and El Paso. WNMU is an Hispanic-Serving Institution, as well as a member of the American Association of University Women. The campus has five buildings that are registered as culture properties, is home to a museum containing the biggest permanent collection of Mimbres pottery, and has its own movie theater that provides free screenings for students.

it's a small school and everybody knows who you are.
it's a open school so you don't have to take the act or sat and your gpa doesn't matter.
