Another one of my favorite parts about Westmont is the food and dining commons on campus. On such a small campus, its easy to create a sense of home and fellowship when going to eat meals with friends and even faculty on campus! Westmont also has two gardens where the Garden Club on campus and the dining commons employees use fresh, locally grown produce to add to the daily meals they serve us! It always gives me peace of mind knowing that most of the food they serve us was grown right outside by the track and field. Westmont's dining commons employees are also very open to meal suggestions made by students and work their hardest to please everyone's dietary needs. The Dining Commons, of DC as the students call it, also employs students to work and serve food during meal hours. By working at one of the on-campus jobs such as this, it allows students to make a extra cash without having to stress about finding a job off campus.

It's not your mother's cooking, but for cafeteria food, it's pretty good! There are a good many options to choose from, including a gluten free/non-allergen section. They are fairly good about listing allergens included in each dish.

Food and dining isn't terrible, but it definitely could improve on its hours. I appreciate how you use a thumb scanner to enter whenever you want. It is open from 7 am-8 pm. Those are the most annoying hours I've ever heard of. I would suggest it opening at 5:30-11 pm. I mean, people need to eat at all times of the day? It's annoying when the dining commons closes at 7 pm on some days. You are stuck without having dinner. The hours are interesting. Most people get dinner at 5 pm. You have to wait for it to open at 7 am to get breakfast. There is a late night food service, which is very great and convenient. It is from 8:30-11:30. I agree with those hours. There is only one dining commons. This can be good for people who have a lot of friends on campus and see them all the time. This can also be bad for people who get annoyed seeing the same people all the time. People often sit with their groups of friends. The same people all the time. It can be awkward if you sit alone. There is no Starbucks, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Jamba Juice, etc. This is kind of annoying. It lacks that college feel of having other places to hang out to eat. It seems kind of like a high school boarding school.

The food is very good. There are always a lot of choices to choose from. The desserts are always good which is a trap to gain weight. There is always a waffle maker, cereal, pizza, hand burgers, and a salad bar. I say the food is pretty good compared to other colleges. There are also theme nights like taco tuesday, italian day, and farm fresh friday.

So the DC (Dining Commons) has its good days and bad days. However there are a lot of options. It's buffet style. You can't go wrong with pizza and a burger, but who wants to eat that everyday.

The food is delicious and different almost everyday. There is a waffle-maker that anyone can use for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There is always cereal if you're not in the mood for real food and taco tuesdays are a crowd favorite.

Many different options for food in the commons, and the food is good. There are no outside restaurants on campus.

  • I am researching this school and have visited the campus

I can only speak from experience, but the meals when I visited looked delicious. But other reviews have said that is pretty typical when there are visitors on campus, so I guess take that with a grain of salt.

There are no sororities at Westmont. Also, there is no smoking or drinking on campus; it is a dry campus.
