Am learning a lot
William Paterson University offers an education of tremendous value in a learning community that is committed to providing academic excellence.
Am enjoying being here
Great community. Everyone is friendly you wont ever feel left out.
if you are a commuter like myself you will always find something to do on campus. I love it here.
Bang for the buck
The tuition is not as bad as i thought it would have been (10,000 a year) comparing to many of the other Universities/colleges. My friends are paying about 30,000 - 50,000 a year for the same exact classes and education.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure to become a very active in activities and clubs and also make sure to remember that school always comes first before anything else. Very important.
Great for these types of students
This liberal arts university is great for any type of students in my opinion.

Am learning a lot
This school has some great teachers and I learned a lot. My only concern is that my schedule for my freshman year was really hard.
Am enjoying being here
Freshman year is a year to get used to college life, but they gave me 5 classes, 2 of which required labs, so i could not take i break. I was constantly studying and barely slept since i was not used to my new environment yet, and its hard getting used to something that you are bombarded with.
Bang for the buck
It is a great school and they provide really great programs. The school is not all that expensive compared to others, and it does helps teach the same if not better then some even more expensive schools.
Tips for prospective students
First off this school when it comes to those who want to live on campus, try to get into the high mountains, because the overlook buildings are not the best. Also it is a really big commuter school so there is not too much to do on the weekends.
Great for these types of students
It is great for students that want to be a biology major because they have an amazing biology department.

Will learn a lot
I went to the open house and learned a lot about what it has to offer and i am actually excited to learn!
Will enjoy being here
I am absolutely obsessed with it, and I love the feeling I get when I visit here.
Bang for the buck
Awesome deal! My siblings schools are way more expensive and frankly, I believe education is what you make of it- and William Paterson is a wonderful school and a great way to receive an education without drowning yourself in student loans.

First semester was great. The professors are all wonderful, especially during office hours. Can't wait for Spring.
Tips for prospective students
Don't believe everything you're told about WPU. They say it's a party school - we DO party - but most of the time it is stictly academic. Get to know your professors (email them before the semester begins to introduce yourself). Smile, be as fake as you can haha - it' can be the difference between a B+ and a A-.
Academic Rigor
Lots of homework to keep you busy and occupied, which makes leisure time even more pleasurable ! Teaching is easy to understand and cope with.
Dorm Life
EVERYBODY is friendly and nice. Sort of a bit chatty, but people will always make you feel welcomed. The dorms aren't too big or too small - it is just right. Air condition in the summer and heat in the winter...wouldn't be surprised if you oversleep.
Food and Dining
Excellent diner. The staff there prepare the best burgers !!!!
What to do for fun
I normally go to the lounge and hang out with people , get to meet new people. Sometimes I attend sporting events like soccer games and basketball games.
Bang for the buck
It is definitely worth you money ! no other school will give a more social life - maybe other than rutgers. but still WPU is top ranked.

Clubs and Activities
most activities happen during common hour.

the police are always riding around campus. there is safety patrol who walks around until around 1am. there is safe ride, which is a shuttle service that rides around campus to take students to their dorms at late hours. this is a very safe and protected campus.

it is an exquisite business school which provided me with great opportunities for my future. the teachers are very helpful if you are a serious student. they have professional enrichment classes which will help you prepare for the real world.
Tips for prospective students
i would definitely recommend this school because it is awesome. you have the opportunity to speak to people from all over the world. if you encounter any problems, the school has a great counseling center as well as a health and wellness center right on campus.
Academic Rigor
the business schools is aacsb accredited which is recognized all over the world. only about 15% of schools in the world have this high standart of academic achievement.
Dorm Life
since i am a commuter student i cannot say anything about it; however, some of my friends live in the dorms and they are happy with it. there is a shuttle bus that takes the students between the two campuses which makes it very convenient.
Food and Dining
there is a lot of options for food on campus as well as around the campus. on the main campus we have a sushi place, a burger king, chinese food, and many more options. also, with your student id you can buy food from other places around town with a student discount.
What to do for fun
we have an arcade right on campus which allows you do have lots of fun with your friends. also, we have a gym, a theater, and a short commute to new york city.
Bang for the buck
over all, i am very glad that i joined this school because i feel like i really am going to be prepared for the professional life after school. lots of our teachers have been working in their field for many years and can therefore give us many real life examples of the things we are studying.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
one of our buildings is hunted by a ghost.
Great for these types of students
the school is perfect for everyone. we have a completly new sience center, the music depatment is also amazing, and the business school which is on a seperate campus (only 10min away from the main campus) is build like a corporate center. also, we have a sales major which hardly no school has that allows you to get filmed while conducting a sales meeting; therefore, you can see yourself afterwards and learn from your mistakes.

Campus Safety
we have our own campus police as well as local police around the campus. also, you can sign up with the william paterson emergency notification system which will inform you about anything that is going on right away.

Will deffinitly get your money's worth here. WPU is also a lot more up to date and modern compared to some of these private colleges that you practically have to sell a kidney in order to afford.

William Paterson is a great school. The teachers are very helpful and want to see you succeed if you are putting in the effort. Overall, the school offers a lot of opportunities being that it is only 10, 15 minutes from New York.
Tips for prospective students
GO TO CLASS! Do not slack because you are sleepy and hung out the night before. Going to class is a must and some teachers do take off points if you miss class without a legitimate excuse.
Academic Rigor
As a freshman, I would have to say that the academic rigor is challenging but very doable. Some teachers help you along the way while others give you the work and expect you to have the knowledge to do it yourself. It is all about the kind of student you are.
Dorm Life
Living away from home is a new experience but you get so used the freedom that you hardly ever miss home. Remember that you are now an adult and you now have the option of making you're own decision. You are now so independent, that it almost becomes second nature. You become friends with so many new groups of people that you build a friendship and a family.
Food and Dining
The food on campus is decent. If you like a bit of a variety, you can expect to find it in the dining hall. It is set up like buffet style with options from pizza, to pasta, to seafood, to breakfast and the list continues. If you just want a quick snack, the student center has a couple of known restaurants such as Sbarro Pizza and Burger King.
What to do for fun
There are a lot of activities that the campus offers during the week and during the weekend as well. The campus is surrounded by nature so if you're into nature, there are hikes that are weekly. If you are a social butterfly, there are Meet and Greets held as well as parties around campus. There are also numerous clubs that you can join to broaden your circle.
Clubs and Activities
There are numerous clubs that are offered on campus. You have SAPB (Student Activities Program Board) which deals with a lot of hands-on things around the campus. However, that isn't the only club on campus.
Greek Life
Greek Life can be fun, but I would not know. I am not involved! However, the Greeks around campus seem to be hands-on as well. They are involved in the community and welcome anyone who wants to be involved.
Campus Safety
Campus security is excellent! There is always one around that can help you out with anything. They are available 24/7 and the security is actually the city's officers. So these are real cops, not rental or pretend! They are traibed to protect and do it well.
