Winona is a very quiet town. It is almost depressing during the school break because most people who live in town are students. It is nothing to do in town even downtown. There are a couple of attractions and places like bowling place, lake for canoeing or kayaking, mountain for hiking and site seeing, and a movie theater. People normally go out of town either to the cities (Twin cities), or out of state to have fun. If you wanna shop at like Forever 21, Macy's, and stuff like that, there's none in Winona.

There is always something on campus that you can do. There are many activities and shows that are put on throughout the year. Otherwise it is just a short walk to downtown Winona which has everything any city would need (like a movie theatre and bowling alleyâ?¦). If one of these doesn't appeal for you then, there are plenty of sporting events and outdoorsy activities. Hiking up to Garvin or to Sugar Loaf is always good fun, especially when you get to the top and get to witness such a miraculous view of the bluffs and Winona. There are also the lakes that you can walk around or bike or rollerblade. You can also go fishing or swimming or kayaking. There are endless possibilities for you to encounter for fun.

Honestly, this school is a party school, but besides partying, there isn't too much to do. There is a movie theatre, bowling alley, and events on campus occasionally. Grocery bingo takes place every few months. If it is warm out, you can go on a bike ride, canoe in the Mississippi, hike the bluffs, or play volleyball. You have to drive to Lacrosse to find more fun things.

There isn't a whole lot to do for fun around Winona unless you're really involved in things like clubs or school organizations. Otherwise the only thing to do is go to parties or Za's.

Downtown Winona offers many options as far as what to do with your time off! There are many bars you can check out (if you're of age!) and shops and restaurants in the downtown area to try out. Winona also has an abundance of hiking trails in the bluffs, or you can drive up to Garvin Heights lookout and see all of Winona from above! The path around the lakes are often walked, rollerbladed, biked, or ran around. You can do whatever suits you best!

Kayaking, hiking and running around the lake are always great things to do when the weather is nice. There are many theater performances to go to, as well as campus sports.

You can climb the bluffs, rent kayaks for free with your student ID, run or walk or bike the lake paths, hit up the beach across the bridge, go to a movie or bar downtown or find an event on campus.
