Overall the college is a decent place to study and work towards your degree. There is a huge obstacle to even begin the process of working towards your career goals and that is the financial aid department. It is very an organized and they lose documents that you have submitted repeatedly. Not everyone in the financial aid department is on the same page and definite training is needed. The amount of time and energy that you put into applying for financial aid is most definitely the biggest hurdle to get over. I cannot imagine that other schools have this sort of issue when applying for classes. Something definitely needs to be done about the financial aid department. It is the biggest problem on campus! I know several students that feel the same way. I would not recommend this school if you are in need of financial aid. Otherwise the classes and instructors are very considerate and knowledgeable and want you to succeed. Occasionally you have an instructor that is not the most willing to work with you, but for the most part that is not the case.

The classes get you ready for the career that you are entering in. The classes are small allowing for more one on one interaction with the professor. Its a very nice and clean campus and the professors are friendly and so are the students.

Yakima CC is a small, close knit junior college that is ideal for obtaining your transfer degree. They also have many technical and vocational studies that can have you out on the work force in just under a year. Yakima Valley needs technical updates and more organization when it comes to counseling, computers, and financial aid.

I really like this campus because it's close together which makes it easy to walk from class to class. It's easier to connect with the professors since it's a smaller school. I would recommend to go here to anymore.

In the months that I have attened Yakima, this community college overall is okay. I wouldnt say it is the best school i have been to because there are flaws in the system just like every other school. The registration and financial aid process is a pain in the butt.

YVCC is a very fun and growing school from my perspective. The classes are not too big, and the instructors are willing to work with you. The instructors I have had so far have treated me like an equal, not like I was a nuisance, and I'm loving it!
