From its first days holding classes in the house of its founder, Birthingway College of Midwifery has grown to become a degree-granting institution of the midwifery arts in Portland. Birthingway offers a bachelor’s degree in Midwifery and associate degree in Lactation Consultation. Additionally, Birthingway hosts certificate-granting Labor Doula and Postpartum Doula programs. The Birthingway Midwifery program is founded on the Biodynamic model of care which emphasizes providing as little intervention in the biological birthing process as possible.
