Am learning a lot
When I came to this school, I thought I knew music and knew the Book of Mormon. I was dead wrong. I have learned more about music, life, and my own religion than I ever thought possible. I've only been there a year, but I feel like I've learned enough to last me a lifetime and beyond.
Am enjoying being here
The atmosphere at BYU Idaho is one of friendliness. I have felt the spirit of God strongly no matter where I went on campus. I don't think I could pick a better school to not only gain an education, but gain lifetime friends and another home.
Bang for the buck
This school costs very little. For what you gain at this school, you definitely get your money's worth and more. Church members also pay for quite a bit through their tithing.
Tips for prospective students
If you aren't willing to work hard and want an easy A, don't go here. The teachers expect you to learn and the way they teach is through discussions and lectures. You have to come to class prepared, but you end up learning so much more because of it.
Great for these types of students
Hard workers, people looking for knowledge, anyone willing to learn.

Am learning a lot
At Brigham Young University- Idaho, you always have the opportunity to learn more. We have a system called the Learning Model and students are encouraged to implicate the the model daily in all applications on campus. I have learned much because of the process, which includes: preparing for class before class, teaching one another during class, and pondering/proving the material after class. There are many opportunities, available on campus to gain knowledge in any area you desire.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy being at BYU-I so much because the campus offers so much for the student population. The campus is classified as have a certain spiritabout it--this is true! You walk on campus and you are overwhelmed with a feeling that can't explained. This university is a wonderful place to meet so many new people and offers different activities to accommodate a wide range of people.
Bang for the buck
Because this university is based on the tithing dollars of the church members, the tuition is more affordable for all who want to attend. You receive so much for the amount you pay--and it is all worth it!
Tips for prospective students
Come to college with a positive perspective and a desire to learn and grow. Be prepared for new things. College is a time to break away from your family and become an individual yourself. Make the next few years the best you can.

Did learn a lot
My professors have always been very approachable. Most have flexible office hours to help work around students' schedules. They teach with the spirit, and as they are encouraged to maximize learning, most encourage active group and class participation, discussions, and study groups.
Did enjoy being here
I have almost always found other students to contribute to the learning environment by their eagerness to learn, and most are friendly and are willing to help one another learn inside (and out of) the classroom.
Bang for the buck
Tuition for this 4-year university is dramatically reduced compared to other 4-year public schools. Teachers are often graded better than ivy-league professors, and since they have a personal interest to see their students succeed, they provide direct and hands-on teaching; no student teachers giving lectures in lieu of the professor him/herself.
Tips for prospective students
Roadmaps for Majors (and minors) can be seen visually in the catalogs and online. These indicate all of the prerequisites, and in which order they can be taken, in order to graduate. For students unsure of their intended fields, these will help know which path is best for them before they start, or waste time taking classes that don't push them toward their goals.

As an aside, it's not necessary to purchase the bulk of your textbooks from the campus bookstore. Cheaper alternatives can almost ALWAYS be found by online retailers, like Half.com, eBay.com, Amazon, etc. Buy your books (used) from the bookstore, but then go shopping elsewhere to find cheaper deals, and return your books to the bookstore once they arrive. Often, you save more by buying online, and forfeiting the loyalty book buyback program offered, than by paying for new (or used) books and selling them back again at the end of the semester.
Great for these types of students
Prayer is offered before most classes, and coursework is challenging but pertinent. Students who like more interaction (as opposed to sitting in lectures) and smaller classes will do well in these settings. Teachers are knowledgeable and often bend over backward to help students succeed.

In three sentences
never before have i been exposed to an environment more perfect for learning than my own home.
Tips for prospective students
dress warm and keep up the reputation the alumni hold.
Academic Rigor
fantastic professors and staff.
Dorm Life
constant friends and amazing community.
Food and Dining
everything is in walking distance and is extremely cheap due to rexburg being a college town.
What to do for fun
there are ice-caves north of town with a slide made of ice in the end, there are sand dunes, civil-defense caves made out of lava tubes. the town and surrounding areas are filled with parks. yellowstone is about an hour away, the tetons are half an hour away, idaho falls which has malls and shoppin is half an hour away.
Bang for the buck
byu-idaho has all the top notch benefits of a 4-year university, however, the price for tution maxes at 1735$ while apartments go for 1035 for one semester!
Great for these types of students
hard working, willing to learn, wanting a fantastic, trusted, university to attend.
Campus Safety
there are emergency boxes scattered around and if anything ever happens someone is always right there willing to help.

The teachers here are amazing and really know their stuff. Because this school is a religion school, you can definitely feel the spirit and it's great because it's a constant thing. The teachers here are great at teaching, telling you what you need to know, and tying our religion into everything. It makes the classes very interesting.
Am enjoying being here
The people here are great. Everyone is really nice and very helpful. They have really fun activities; there is always something for you to do. This school knows how to have some fun, but also knows how to buckle down and be serious. There is a great balance between the two.
Bang for the buck
This school always has something fun and interesting to look forward to during the week, and including weekends. They have ongoing sports and dances. They also have many volunteer opportunities for you to participate in.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure you set aside time to study. Get your homework out of the way early on so you don't have to worry about it later.
I would also suggest first time students to stay in on campus housing for the first semester. It helps you to become familiar with the campus and its a great way to meet other first time students. But after that first semester, don't be afraid to venture into off campus housing.
Know that you can have fun, but make sure you have a good balance between that and doing your homework and studying.
Study. It really pays off in the end.
Great for these types of students
This school is great for students who want to combine religious learning with the rest of their education. It's a great place to feel the spirit and learn a tremendous amount. It's also a great school for those who want a closer more intimate school setting. It's a smaller school than others, but just as great.

My professors are remarkably wise, not only in the topic they are teaching but also in life lessons. They are always willing to help me understand the material. All of my professors are really interested in helping me succeed. The class material is rigorous but if you stay caught up on your homework, do what your teacher asks, and are always focusing and paying attention in class you will be surprised how much you learn.
Am enjoying being here
I love attending BYU-Idaho. Everyone is so friendly and so helpful! On the first day of school I couldn’t find some of my classes and there were so many people willing to help me. There are so many activities and extra-curricular activities to be involved in, I have never been board. There are so many activities going on, all you do is have to look for them and ask around. Also there are so many opportunities to meet new friends.
Bang for the buck
The feelilng up here is amazing! There are so many people who care about you, especially your professors. There are also so many things to be involved with! I have never been bored because I am always doing something!
Tips for prospective students
Do your homework first, then play! It is so easy to get distracted by all the fun activities. If you do your homework first you will find yourself excelling in your classes. Also ask questions! Don't feel stupid, everyone has questions and lost of people have the same question as you so be brave and ask away! Along with that be out going toward others, you will make so many good friends this way. Also be involved! There are so many things that you can do! Enjoy school, and as long as you set your priorities and follow them you will have a great experience!
Great for these types of students
Great for people who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and want to grow spiritually as well as mentally.

It is amazing to me the number of top notch instructors here on campus! Many of them left higher paying positions to come here and I am so grateful they did. I have become close friends with many of my instructors who take the time to know you personally, both on an academic and friendly level. Classes are not easy, but that is what college is about. I have learned more here than I think I would have at any other university.
Am enjoying being here
I absolutely love being in Rexburg, it's a smaller town than I am used to but I find myself missing school when I am off track. The people you meet and the schools faculty are just phenomenal. Campus is small and easy to navigate around (though not at the moment with all the construction, but once that's done the campus will be even prettier). Overall an educational and very spiritual experience!
Bang for the buck
It is cheaper for me to go to school in Idaho at BYU than it would be for me to stay in-state in CA. Definitely worth it.
Tips for prospective students
Develop good study habits now! There are so many events and fun people to hang out with it sometimes is easy to push aside your homework for more fun things. Stay focused and don't let your grades drop, once you fall behind it becomes Way harder to catch back up.

Am learning a lot
This is my first semester up here, and I've already learned more than I thought possible. The teachers here are all amazing, and have great backgrounds. They set time aside to help students and talk with them if needed, and they are all so helpful. The career advisers are all helpful with deciding what courses you should take and how to plan. Everyone here makes learning fun! You also have prayer before every class, so it invites the Spirit to be there, which is the best teacher of all!
Am enjoying being here
I absolutely love it here! Everyone you meet is incredibly friendly, and everyone says hi to each other. You feel welcome. The whole atmosphere on campus is such a great feeling. There are so many new friends to meet here.
Bang for the buck
BYU-Idaho is one of the cheapest colleges out there because of the support from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But even though it's cheap, you don't miss out on anything. You get the best quality education for the best price! Also, there is so much to do on campus. Dances, sports, and concerts are among the most popular, but the list is much longer. We have pretty much everything you can think of!
Tips for prospective students
First of all, if you're not sure where to go for college, I would strongly recommend putting lots of prayer into your decision. But if you do decide that this is the school for you, you should decide early on where you're going to live. This is my first semester, and I'm living off campus, but it's right across the street from campus. I love it, but so does everyone else, so you need to turn in your apartment applications early, or you won't get a room. Also, talk to the advisers early on so they can help you decide what classes to sign up for. I would try to complete your Foundations classes within the first couple of years however. But most of all, come prepared to learn AND have fun! You need both!
Great for these types of students
This would be a great school for any member of the LDS church. Your testimony will grow so strong, and you will grow as a person as well.

Classes are wonderful! As always, teachers aren't perfect but you definitely get out what you put into your education! If you go in wanting to learn and put in the effort you will get a lot out of if! I love the atmosphere, it makes you feel right at home, especially your first few weeks there!
Am enjoying being here
It's great in Rexburg! There are always student activities such as swing dancing, Latin dancing, country dancing, game nights, and other fun activities! And if you don't feel up to that there are great people around the school who you can find and play games with! It's wonderful!
Tips for prospective students
If you don't like small towns, or have grown up in a large city it may be difficult to adjust. However, there are great people around Rexburg and you learn to fall in love with it! I'm from a small town, so it was easy especially since Rexburg is bigger than my hometown.
Great for these types of students
It's a great place for people who want to learn a lot, but want to have fun in the process, mixed in with spiritual education at the same time! It gives a great balance of everything you need!

Am learning a lot
I have learned so much here at BYU-Idaho. The professors are very willing to help anyone with any questions and help understand the subject being taught. I also have not only learned a ton but have already been able to apply and use everything I have learned in my life the same day.
I have also learned how to a leader. Even as a freshman I was in charge of a major school event. I got to learn how to deal with people in different situations, how to run an event, and take charge of a week long schooling and community event.
Am enjoying being here
I could never imagine being anywhere else then in Rexburg, Idaho at BYU-Idaho. There is always something going on in the little town. I played on a soccer team and loved it; there are both coed and just girls teams for any sport. I went on field trips for field biology and really got to be able to identify plants outside of the classroom. There is something for everyone in Idaho not matter what each person loves or is interested in.
Bang for the buck
Money is a major issue for me. My parents are not able to help me at all with paying for college. BYU-Idaho offers so many scholarships and grants! Tuition in here is cheaper for me than it was back in Arizona, even for instate-tuition. My money has been put to good use and not wasted on any classes.
Tips for prospective students
There is so much to do and so much fun, but remember there is also school work. Also make sure that all the finances for school is figured out before the semester starts.
Great for these types of students
BYU-Idaho is good for any type of students. If a student is lost and does not know where his/her life is headed BYU-Idaho is a place that will help anyone find out. And if the student knows then it is a great place to start his/her ambitions.
