Founded by the Society of Mary, Chaminade University of Honolulu is a Christian institution and Hawaii’s only Catholic university. Chaminade is home to six academic departments conferring over 25 undergrad and graduate degree programs. As one of only three American schools with Marianist heritage, community service-based learning is integrated into all classes and the university has received a Presidential Award for commitment to civic engagement. To further promote spiritual life on campus, Chaminade holds Sunday mass and sponsors annual awakening and new student retreats.
