Originally founded as a private school affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, Clarendon College transitioned into a public 2-year community college in 1927 and has continued to operate as such for the past eight decades. It serves eight surrounding counties in the Texas panhandle and remains the oldest continually operating institution of higher learning in that region. Incoming students taking dual credit courses in high school are invited to enroll in Clarendon’s Honors College to complete the school’s core curriculum over two long semesters. Honors College students then gain access to advisors who aid in transferring to Texas Tech and West Texas A&M.
Clarendon College is a great starter school for any student who wants to get their basics. This school has really great teachers and is also very friendly. I went to Clarendon College and it was a great school.
