Am learning a lot
The professors know what they are teaching for the most part. Many of the professors have PhDs so that is a definite plus.
Am enjoying being here
You have to be able to handle living in a small town with not much to do. There is a lot of stuff to do on campus and its easy to come up with things to do.
Bang for the buck
I'm an out-of-stater and it is very affordable especially if you are from Pennsylvania. The education that you receive is what you expect from a state university, not the greatest but still very good.
Tips for prospective students
The Highlands are a great place to live in and you meet tons of people that way as long as you keep your door open! Edinboro is extremely easy to get into and Edinboro gets tons of snow in the winter but that makes it more fun! There are lots of handicapped students there as well.
Great for these types of students
Edinboro is acclaimed for its accommodations for students with disabilities. Everything is handicap accessible. There is a great nursing program and the speech and hearing sciences programs as well.

Am learning a lot
The general education classes can be on the bigger side, but for you core classes that are about you major they are small class sizes so that you can work one on one with your teacher. All teachers are willing to work with you and the school has tutoring for every class that is offered.
Am enjoying being here
Its a small town, so you can basically walk everywhere and where you can not walk to the school has a shuttle program set up to take you and drop you off.
Bang for the buck
It has very cheap tuition, and there is a lot of money saving things on campus, like the free movie theater that has different movies each week, their are two galleries on campus and you can rent rollarblades and bikes with your student ID.
Tips for prospective students
I would suggest leaving your car at home unless you have a vehicle with 4 wheel drive, the roads get pretty bad and unless you know how to drive on the snow/ice, you should really stick to walking.

Bang for the buck
I have been pulling my hair out trying to find an affordable college, and here it is. Edinboro is completely affordable for the average middle class family.
Great for these types of students
From what I can see this is a great place for those who want to get out of the big city and relax somewhere that is quiet.

Am learning a lot
I am definitely learning a lot of new information in every class. I like most of my teachers, and they're pretty reasonable.
Am enjoying being here
There's a lot of stuff to do here, if you look for it. A lot of activities are free, like the SGA game room, the movie theater (popcorn is a quarter), zumba, yoga, clubs, and other campus activities. The bus is free with your college ID so you can get around campus and go to Erie. There are some cool places in town too, like Earthshine and John's Wildwood Pizza. A lot of people go home on the weekends, but I heard more people stay on campus when it starts to snow and such.
Bang for the buck
Edinboro's a state school, so you're already saving money. This is especially true if you are a PA resident. I am not eligible for financial aid, so this school is pretty close to my price range. Just be careful when buying drinks outside Van Houten (the buffet style place) because pepsi products are not covered on the meal plan and you could accidentally deplete your flex (your extra cash on your ID). I also recommend traditional housing over the Highlands. Earp and Dearborn are built a lot better, and my floor actually is a community. It's cheaper, and in some cases, our bathrooms are cleaner. Also, they told me that if I visited Edinboro, they would waive my application fee.
Tips for prospective students
Apply early even if you're not sure if you want to go here or not yet, especially if they waive your application fee. Also, try to get your housing contract in as soon as possible. I specifically wanted to live on the Honors Living Learning floor, so I sent mine in within a week. Leave your door open when you can so that you can get to know your neighbors. During freshmen common hour, they will encourage you to meet your advisor before you have to find him or her for registration down the line. Do it. Make sure you show up for class as much as possible, because a lot of my teachers will start lowering your grade if you miss more than three days. If you have any AP or College in High School credits, make sure you have them sent in as soon as possible, as in the beginning of summer.
Great for these types of students
This school is very well set up for handicapped students. There are also great programs for nursing, teaching, and a fairly large art program. The Edinboro art department is set up so your portfolio review is during your sophomore year (called candidacy). This levels the playing field because no two high school art programs are the same. EUP is not located in a city, so it's pretty quiet around here. If you can't afford a private college but don't want to go to community college, try Edinboro out. Great things happen here!

Edinboro University is a wonderful campus that feels like home with friendly staff and well maintained facilities. Higher education is valued very high here and the Nursing program is one of the best. I am proud to be affiliated with this University.
Tips for prospective students
College is nothing like high school!
Visit every school you have in mind and ask a lot of questions!!!
Study as hard as you can and read the syllabus for every class very carefully!
Meet friends in your major and create study groups and have a study night once a week. It will help tremendously when it comes for test time, there will be less cramming.
Academic Rigor
Being a Nursing student is not easy. The classes are hard yet fun. It is nice to have an Anatomy and Chemistry background coming into the program. A lot of studying is required!!!
Dorm Life
I currently live in the Highlands which is apartment style housing. It is very nice and clean and I feel at home. There are a variety of different options within the Highlands. One can have their own room with three other suite mates and a shared bathroom for the whole suite. One can have their own bedroom with a common area, kitchenette, and two bathrooms. Another option is to share a bedroom and bathroom with one other person. One can even have their own separate room and suite. The staff is very friendly and there has not been any problems here! Everything is close to the Highlands so they are located nicely. Edinboro also offers a more traditional type of housing. These dorms accommodate to all types of students, even ones with special needs and in wheel chairs.
Food and Dining
Edinboro University offers a variety of dining options. The in house dining facility Van Houtton offers a consistent menu as well as specials in a buffet style manner. In the student center there are many options depending on your craving. In the student center there is W.O.W which stands for World of Wings. W.O.W offers things such as wings, French fries, sandwiches, and even quesadillas! Also in the student center is chopped and wrapped which offers a variety of salads and wraps and also has a soup of the day. New is the student center is a sushi café Bleu which offers sushi and some other Chinese cuisine. There are many more options too many to list! But I give the dining a thumbs up for always fulfilling my cravings!
What to do for fun
There is plenty to do for fun here in Edinboro. Football games as well as various other sporting events are always roaring here on campus. The University is constantly hosting events for students, showing movies in the student center, and having chances to go on outings. Edinboro is only a short way from Erie so with a car one is minutes away from a plethora of restaurants, stores, and other things that Erie has to offer.
Bang for the buck
Edinboro is a great option for a Pennsylvania resident. You get the great education with multiple opportunities and majors to chose from. Tuition is comparable to most other schools and with the great housing options and even the option to commute one is really getting what they pay for here at Edinboro.
Campus Safety
With a police station right on campus one will feel incredibly safe here. The police are constantly patrolling around campus looking out for any danger. Also there are emergency locations that one can go to contact the police and get help. These are marked by blue lights and are located by Highlands and spread through out campus.

Edinboro professors offer a much superior quality than what the university charges in tuition per semester. In my opinion, this is of vital importance when picking a school because it isn't how much you spend, but how much you learn. Despite a lot of downplaying of quality from the local area, Edinboro has established itself as one of the best schools for physically handicapped students with a full support staff to tend to their needs.
Tips for prospective students
If you are looking at Edinboro and are from a warm-climate area, you need to prepare for cold weather. As for any university, you must keep in mind that the purpose of attending a university is for education.
Academic Rigor
As with any university, Edinboro's courseload entirely depends on the student. It is up to you to take however many credits you would like and generally speaking the lower the credit-load the lower the amount of work you need to complete. Courses generally wean their way up to higher levels of difficulties and often require prerequisites so you needn't worry about any unreasonable academic demand. Edinboro's professors are ready to assist you to greater understanding of the necessary material with their office hours. If that doesn't pan out, you may check upon several of the university's tutoring resources.
Dorm Life
Dorm life is an aspect that may need review. New regulations demand that prospective students enlist in a mandatory 2 year contract for the Highlands which offers troubling prices and other mandatory stipulations such as meal plans as compared to off campus housing opportunity. On the upside, Edinboro has phased out older traditional dorm buildings by building the Highlands which offer a hotel-like feeling.
Food and Dining
Dining is of exceptional quality. There is more than 10 locations for students to grab a snack or eat a meal on campus. Meal plans come at a price but are a good introduction to keeping a student well-fed.
What to do for fun
Edinboro offers several outlets for fun including a full-service gym which includes racket-ball, basketball courts, a track, rock climbing obstacle course, and many other activities. There is a game room where students may play traditional arcade games to checking out consoles like the X-box and Play-stations. Edinboro has other fun nights like karaoke night or comedian night where they will bring in a comedian to entertain students.
Great for these types of students
Edinboro is great for anyone with a physical dependency. In addition to all amenities and specific dorm rooms made for those with physical handicaps, Edinboro aids students by allowing them to focus in special education and these special education students will directly aid those with physical handicaps.
Clubs and Activities
There are countless amounts of clubs and endless possibilities to gain recognition on campus. If there isn't something you like, you can just start your own club using your own innovation. After you are recognized, you may receive funding from the Student Government Association to perform whichever duties you deem fit.
Greek Life
Greek life is very friendly to newcomers and is a good method to get introduced to the campus and all of the various clubs to pursue.
Campus Safety
The president of the university has recently instituted a new program where students may have police give them rides during certain hours of the night. Each dorm comes with an RA and several levels of scanned door security to enter the individual wings with rooms.

I do not know, but since I will not be living in the same state the school is in I will not use this.

This school is one of the lowest priced I have come accross, and it has the same curriculum and standing as higher priced universities.
