Originally founded as Montgomery Bible School, Faulkner University is a Christian liberal arts school in Montgomery affiliated with the Churches of Christ. Faulkner confers undergraduate degrees in over 70 academic majors and its honors program utilizes the Great Books of the Western World including works by Plato, Locke, Voltaire, and Aristotle. To help ease the transition to college life, all first year students are enrolled in a 9-week Faulkner Foundations course covering topics like academic development and community service. As a Christian university, Faulkner features daily chapel services as well as Bible classes and late night devotionals.
