Will learn a lot
Gardner-Webb is a generally small university; the class sizes at GWU provides an excellent environment for learning, asking questions, and getting involved. It's a good thing that at GWU your professor can know you. At GWU your not just a number, your a student!
Will enjoy being here
The environment was pleasant. There are nice big quads (green grass areas) located right outside the halls and buildings. Their quad is a great place to study, or play frisbee! The staff and students were very friendly. Gardner-Webb has a lot of events for their students, many stay on campus for the weekends. Something fun to do is usually held on Friday at their campus.
Tips for prospective students
Stay on top of deadlines and do extra researching during the summer on colleges. Check Gardner-Webb out it is a great university in North Carolina.

Will learn a lot
I haven't started here yet, but on my tour I got to meet professors and I know I will learn a lot. They cared enough to stop and talk to you about potential majors, your intrests, and many I talked to exchanged email addresses with me, so we could keep in touch about classes I was intrested in taking.
Will enjoy being here
GWU is in a small town, but Boiling Springs is a great. Plus, the campus holds movie nights and other activities, so there's almost always something to do. It also has a great Christian atmosphere and a beautiful campus. The students and admission staff are so friendly and were so willing to help. The dorms are great and clean, and most are close to the quad.
Bang for the buck
GWU is expensive, but the cost is worth it. Classes are small and you get a lot of personal attention from professors.
Tips for prospective students
Take a tour. I toured at Dawg Days and it is so much fun. You take a campus tour and attend a financial aid session, go to a falculty fair, and eat lunch in the student center, and if you go in the fall you get to watch a football game for free. The second I stepped on campus I knew it was the place for me.
Scholarships are so important. GWU is expensive and they do offer some great scholarships, so make sure you pay attention to deadlines.
Take advantage of Overnight at the Pound visits. They give you the opportunity to stay the night in a dorm, sit in on classes, and see what it's like to actually be a student.

Gardner-Webb University allows you to not just be part of the university as a student but to work along side the staff, professors and help the community in projects and activities. The classes are small which allows for a more personal interaction with classmates and professors. Professors and staff care about the students success and make you feel important not just a number in the class.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy being at Gardner-Webb because of the people and opportunities I have to work along side my professors and advisers not only in classroom but in the community of Boiling Springs. It has been easy to make friends and become involved in activities as a freshman student because of the mentoring program GWU provides to new students.
Bang for the buck
The cost of Gardner-Webb is more than a public university but the advantages offered on the campus are worth it. The campus is awesome and provides great places to hang out with friends. GWU is in a small town but there is always something to do on campus or in about 15- 30 minutes you can go to one of the larger towns for more restaurants, shopping or movies.
Tips for prospective students
I recommend for prospective students that they spend a night or weekend on campus and check out what it has to offer. GWU is great about making the arrangements, you stay in one of the dorms and have a GWU student to hang out with for the weekend. A great way to get the feel of college life, the GWU students and the campus.
Great for these types of students
GWU is great for students who want or like a more personal experience with other students and college staff. It is a Christian University so you will not have the typical public university environment. If you are a student seeking a good education, a heart to serve, and a small school GWU is for you.

Gardner-Webb is a great school. The professors are extremely helpful and are willing to meet with you at any time. One of my professors even had his class over for dinner! The professors here build relationships with their students and always seem to help their students whether its with school, personal problems, or anything you can think of.
Am enjoying being here
the school itself i have no complaints about, i think the campus is as great as it can be. but as for a location, its in the middle of know where and can get extremely boring. if you attend here you should get involved in as many activities, clubs, intramurals, etc. as possible!
Bang for the buck
Extremely good price for the school, the campus is beautiful and highly regarded in the area. The education is absolutely fabulous.
Tips for prospective students
Don't come here and plan to party! Dry campus and county, the campus police and RA's are very strict about alcohol and tobacco.
Great for these types of students
This school would be great for Christians, every religion is welcomed here but we take pride in our Christianity! Blind, deaf, and hard of hearing, because we have a great program for these people. The noel program suits needs for them and you can look it up on their website i think! This is also a good school for athletes, we are a division 1 program in every sport that we have. This school is also great for people that are used to living in the country! I truly believe that anybody could fit in here because there are so many groups, clubs, intramural, etc that people can be a part of.

Am learning a lot
I am currently enrolled in the GOAL program here at GWU. I am enrolled in 5 classes. I am taking 4 of my classes online and 1 of my classes I have actually on the Boiling Springs campus at night. Some individuals say that you can never learn when taking online classes, but that is a very untrue statement. Yes, you have to put all your time into studying; however, I am learning so many new things this semester. Also, with my class that I am taking in class, Quantitative Methods of Business, I have never done this work before, but I am really learning a lot in this class and getting the hang of the information.
Am enjoying being here
I am living at my house, but as I said, I go to the campus once a week, and I really do enjoy it. I just started at GWU, as I stated, and I really do enjoy it! I always tell everyone that I come in contact with that I really am enjoying it. Also, everybody is so very kind here at GWU, the professors, employees, advisors, and other students.
Bang for the buck
The education that you receive at GWU is definitely a bang for the buck. It may be pretty expensive compared to other schools; however, when you get the great education that you get here at GWU, it really does pay off with the money situation.
Tips for prospective students
My tips for any student would be when you are starting out at any college, not just GWU, make sure that you get to know your professors at the start of the semester. Send them emails, go in and talk to them. Don't wait till you fail a test to start getting to know the professor. You have to show the professor that you really do care about your education and that you want the best out of the teaching from the professor. Also, if you take any online classes, make sure that you spend all your time studying, don't slack off on your studying, online classes could be hard if students don't study, but for the ones that put their best effort into their classwork, it will pay off!
Great for these types of students
I feel that GWU is great for students that are determined to do their best to get their college education!

The professors are wonderful and are willing to help in any part of the day. The university is small enough so that the professors can get to know you as a person, and not just a number.
Am enjoying being here
I love the atmosphere of the school. When you walk onto this campus you can feel the warmth and the welcome from the Gardner-Webb community.
Bang for the buck
Worth every bit of the money that you spend here.
Tips for prospective students
When you start school, have your mind on your studies first, and the other things second. Your studies are the most important thing in college.
Great for these types of students
A student who loves to get to know their professor and grow a relationship with them that goes farther than just the classroom. If you ever have a problem then you can always go back to an old professor and they will help you just like you still had them.

Am learning a lot
I just finished my first year at Gardner-Webb and I've learned so much already just in my core classes. One advantage of Gardner-Webb being a private school is that the classes are smaller so you are able to get to know the professors on a personal basis and if you have question they are more than willing to answer it. Gardner-Webb offers tutoring and other services to help insure that you not only learn the material, but you can also understand and apply it to your life.
Am enjoying being here
I have absolutely enjoyed every minute that I've been at Gardner-Webb. I feel like this is exactly where I am supposed to be; it is my home away from home. From the campus and the courses, to the students and professors, to the clubs and activities - I love everything that Gardner-Webb has to offer. I fell in love with this school the first time I visited, and after living on campus for a year my admiration is still just as strong.
Bang for the buck
The price is the only downside that I can think of about a Gardner-Webb. It is expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The education and the experience you will receive at Gardner-Webb can not compare to that of a cheaper public school.
Tips for prospective students
My first tip would be to visit the campus. I believe that is the only way you can truly grasp everything that Gardner-Webb has to offer. For me, the visit was my deciding factor. The first time I stepped on the campus I knew that I would spend my next four years there. My second tip would be to look into scholarships and financial aid programs. As I mentioned earlier, the only downside to Gardner-Webb is the price. It is worth the expense though, so if you can figure out a way to pay for it then it makes your decision much easier.
Great for these types of students
Gardner-Webb is great for students who are searching for a school that will not only help them to further their education, but also further their walk with Christ.

I am currently enrolled in the Education Program at Gardner-Webb University. The environment is friendly and you will get a lot of one on one attention. The only disadvantage is the lack of time spent in outside schools.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure you ask all of the questions you need to know before starting the program of our choice.
Great for these types of students
The campus is a must if you are a small town guy or girl. The atmosphere is friendly and so are the people.

Gardner-Webb is absolutely AMAZING!!! They have a clean, fun campus that is Christian oriented. This is one college you won't regret looking into!
Tips for prospective students
Definitely visit the campus and visit Gardner-Webb's website. On there you can find a virtual tour that takes you all over the campus. You need to see what kind of college's you like. This one is focused on Christians so you need to see if you like that or not.
Academic Rigor
The amount of time and effort these professors put into their students is unbelievable. This is a one time thing at Gardner-Webb that you may or may not find at other colleges. I sat in on a class and it was AMAZING! If you are serious about Gardner, definitely sit in on a class. It is worth it's wait and gold. I learned so much in 2 hours from an awesome professor. The classes are small and you WILL get to know your professor here!
Dorm Life
The dorm life is amazing. Even though the halls aren't coed, the apartments are. The dorms are separated by gender and class. The bathrooms are clean and homey unlike most colleges. The rooms are air conditioned and the rooms are livable.
Food and Dining
The food is delicious andddd...they have a chocolate milk machine!!! The best thing EVER! They also have a Starbucks and Chick Fila, which seems to be a must on most Campus' these days. They have a cafeteria that is buffet style with a HUGE variety.
What to do for fun
There are tons of things to do on campus. First of all they have a wicked rock climbing wall in the Tucker Student Center. They also have a high ropes course kind-of thing in the woods. You could go swimming in their indoor pool, whenever the swim teams not meeting of course. There's sports, sports games, laying under the trees. Eating. Going into the drive-in movies. Going to Fuzzy Peach and eating Frozen Yogurt!! There are also student lead nights and just going to church can be fun. There is always something to keep you busy on campus which is really nice.
Bang for the buck
Gardner Webb does have a free application if you do it online which is good for us poor people. The fee is about $34,000 a year, which isn't that bad for what it offers. It's would definitely be worth it though!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
They have this one tradition they do every year where they don't wear shoes for the entire day to raise awareness and to get a feel for the poor people that don't have shoes.
Great for these types of students
This is definitely for someone who wants to get a degree but stay close to God. I haven't been connected with the Lord lately but this is a school that does that exactly. There are 40 churches in a mile radius of the place in all directions, from what I heard at the visit.
Clubs and Activities
They have tons of activities and clubs. Too many clubs to list. They have Christian activities and giving back to the community activities and many, many, MANY clubs! If they don't have a club you can make one which is nice.
Greek Life
They never talked about Greek Life on the tour but if your interested you can contact them or ask them whenever you visit.
Campus Safety
They have 3 different kinds of police on campus. They will escort you anywhere if you feel unsafe or if there is ever an emergency you just dial their number and they'll be there in less than 60 seconds. They also have swipey cards to get in the dorms and other buildings so some person off the street can't get in. No one that shouldn't be there can't get in.

Gardner-Webb is a great university with a close and caring community, both on campus and off campus. Though it is located in a small town there are activities to participate in every weekend and throughought the week. This is a wonderful school which helps students financially and where you actually get your money's worth!
Tips for prospective students
Taking a tour of the campus would be a great start to getting a feel for the community. You will find many people greet you and make you feel welcome.
Academic Rigor
Professors challege students academically both inside the classroom and out. You are challenged to think critically and explore ideas that may be different from your own. Though the work is challenging, the professors are always available if you need help or have questions.
Dorm Life
The dorm community is very nice to experience. One is allowed the chance to meet many new people and make new friends whilst living in a dorm. The facilities in the dorms along with the room sizes are pleasing. The housekeeping staff does a great job of keeping things sanitary, neat , clean, and also smelling nice. The people you live with also help keep things tidy because no one wants to live in a dirty mess!
Food and Dining
There are many options to choose from in the cafeteria from vegetarian options, wraps, burgers, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, soup, salad bar, fruit bar, dessert bar, ice cream, and many more options! Chick-fil-A is also a great option along with World of Wings (WOW) and Simply To Go. You can also use Flex Points to shop in the store on cmapus and cook you oown meals if you so desire. There are also many restaurants and grocery stores off campus to get food from such as Ingles, Olive Garden, Papa's Pizza, Ruby Tuesday, Fatz Cafe, Dollar General, Italian Garden, Walmart, and IHOP just to name a few select.
What to do for fun
There are many activities one can take part in. During the warm months students enjoy going down to the Broad River Greenway for a picnic, fishing, pictures, swimming, or to play on the playground. Right outside of town there is also bowling, movie theatres, and many shopping venues. On campus there are also activities every weekend from foam parties, to gameshows (in which you can win money), concerts, to sports games and bounce houses, balloons, FOOD, races, and much, much more! Student activities does a wonderful job of planning things for students and one great thing about Gardner-Webb is that there is Food at every event!
Campus Safety
The campus is very safe. The campus is well-lit particularly at night and campus police are at your service at the touch of a button. There are emergency stations placed in conveinient areas around campus, and the Boiling Springs police are right down the road if you need them. The gentlemen on campus are also quite helpful as they will escort the ladies back to their dorms at night if she so chooses.
