Houston Baptist University is a 4-year institution located on 100 acres of land just outside of its namesake town in Texas. The university promotes academic, spiritual, and academic excellence centered around their central confession “Jesus Christ is Lord,” so attendance at convocation is mandatory for graduation, but HBU welcomes all religions worldwide. The liberal arts curriculum spans 9 colleges and schools, including an Honors College, and students can opt to take core classes in a Fastterm that earns 3 credits in 10 days.

Room and Board
The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
(amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
+ amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
+ amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.
