Lindenwood University - Belleville is a great place to find your "family." The smaller campus and student population allows to meet and see people on a regular day basis, which makes it easy to become close friends with them. Class sizes are smaller which also allows for you to connect to professors easier, so instead of being just another person, they actually know you by your name.
Tips for prospective students
Lindenwood's student population is made up largely of international students, so one big thing that I would say is to stay open minded and be willing to learn of other people's lives and cultures; it can make your friend group so much more interesting!
Academic Rigor
College classes anywhere are going to be difficult; however, if you take the time to study and learn the information provided then they can be much easier. At Lindenwood, there is a good ratio of very difficult classes and classes that give your brain a little break.
Dorm Life
The dorms at Lindenwood are very clean and there is a lot of space in each room; however, there is the possibility that you will have two other roommates (3 people to a room), but there is still plenty of space for each person's belongings. They are cleaned everyday by school employees. After your freshman year you can move out of the dorms and into one of the other campus living options like apartments or houses.
Food and Dining
There are a few options for dining on campus: we have a cafeteria where there is different kinds of food everyday and many options; there's a grab and go food stand where you can find sandwiches, wraps, and salads to grab and take with you; and then we have a cafe were you can grab some soup, a toasted sandwich, chicken, or their "special of the day." The cafe also has a Starbucks where you can get coffee, tea, or smoothies.
What to do for fun
Since the campus happens to be smaller it is easier to meet with friends at night and on the weekends to do fun things. Saint Louis is also very close and there are many free and cheap things to do in that area like the zoo, museums, etc. Downtown Belleville also has fun events throughout the year that a lot of students go to.
Bang for the buck
At Lindenwood, you have an opportunity to grow as your own person and to help the campus grow as well. There are opportunities inside the classroom, on campus, and in the community. Lindenwood has done a great job of pairing with local businesses to have speakers come in and to provide some amazing internships.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Over holidays like Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas there are a lot of students that are not able to go home, so the campus has their own dinners here for those students to be able to celebrate. We also have a hammock garden, which isn't really unusual but it is fun to hang out there with your friends.
Great for these types of students
I think that as long as you're an open-minded, friendly person that you would fit perfectly on campus. There are many outgoing and amazing people to meet from all over the world.
Clubs and Activities
There are plenty of clubs and activities to get involved with from Marketing Club to Psychology Club and many, many more in between. There is also intramural sports to be in and actual sports to play as well.
Greek Life
Since Lindenwood Belleville is a new and growing campus, there is only 2 fraternities and then we will be getting our first sorority this coming fall semester.
Campus Safety
There has never been anything weird and out of the box happen on campus, but campus safety is around 24/7 just to make sure, escort you back to your room if you don't want to walk alone in the dark, or for any other safety reason.

LUB is an amazing atmosphere for college students. With a small campus size and diverse campus community, it gives students a true sense of belonging. The experience that Lindenwood - Belleville provides is truly unique.
Tips for prospective students
Ask questions. Connect with your counselor as they are here to help you through the college application process. Identify exactly what you are looking for in YOUR university. Do not choose a college based on just the social aspect, choose an institution that you know you will excel and thrive at, all while enjoying the college experience.
Academic Rigor
The academics are moderate in difficulty. The reason I say this is because our classroom sizes average about 20-25 per classroom and sometimes even less. With these classroom sizes, you are able to collaborate with other students and even able to connect with your professor. At larger universities you are placed in large lecture halls when all you are is just a number. At Lindenwood - Belleville each student has the opportunity to make connections with their professor.
Dorm Life
My freshman year I lived in the dorms and it was a great experience. There were several events to participate in and everyone in the same hall knew each other. The only downside was the community bathrooms, yet they were always kept clean.
Food and Dining
We have 3 options for food and dining and each of them offer a variety of options. We have fast and convenient options and also dine-in options. The days are often switched up, so you are not eating the same food everyday.
What to do for fun
Belleville is in a perfect spot as it is 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis, MO and also 20 minutes from a very lively town in Fairview Heights, IL. Both locations offer several things and activities for college students to take part in. Our campus is also located 5 minutes from Downtown Belleville which also offers several locations and venues for a college student to live the college experience. Besides those locations, we have a very lively Student Life on campus, giving students an opportunity to be involved and engaged on campus.
Clubs and Activities
We have multiple clubs and organizations on campus that students love to be involved in. Whether it is a club for your major or just strictly an extracurricular activity, we will have one that will suit you.
Greek Life
Greek Life is a small community with a big name on our campus. We have two fraternities that perform several events and service opportunities that enhance the Lindenwood - Belleville name. Both organizations are great to be involved in as it prepares you for success during college and beyond.
Campus Safety
Our Department of Public Safety is on 24/7 patrol making sure our students are safe at all times of the night. On campus we have several emergency lightposts which students can use in cases of emergency.
